Ctrl + click function

The Ctrl + link function on Word does not work. It does not take me to the webpage but instead says it cannot connect to the Internet. If I copy the link and paste it into the address bar, I can get there. Word is up to date. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Does the issue affect all documents, or just one particular one? If it only affects one document, if you upload a copy or it, someone may be able to determine the cause of the problem.

This issue is only on one computer. The function works fine on another computer.

Under File>Options>Advanced>Editing options, is there a check mark in the box for:

User CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink

Can use use other CTRL + options, such as CTRL + b to embolden text? If not, the CTRL key may be faulty.

Yes, the box is checked. CTRL key works fine for everything else. Thanks.
