I have recently joined the insider program and I downloaded some optional updates and restarted and now my computer is darkening at a black screen and lighting up at a white screen. It could be adaptive brightness but I cannot see that feature in my power options.
Make sure run Windows Update and download and install all updates. Also try install or update all drivers for the Windows. In case, problem persists make sure report it using the Feedback Hub app.
