Malware inside cursor – be careful on Windows computer...
after some research i found out that this malware has already infected a lot of npm packages what's confusing is that these files were installed inside cursor's own directory of course i understand cursor itself didn't not install the package intially i assumed they came from my "asyncapi-preview" extension i installed for cursor but i also have the same extension in VS Code, and there're no malicious files in tis directory so my qiestions are what's exactly node_modules dir inside cursor's dir used for? is there any way to prevent npm modules without from being installed automatically without my explicit approval? or, more generally, what's the recommended way to avoid this kind of issue in the future?How to view Windows version on a new computer
This is an unusual one for me. I bought my daughter a new HP laptop and after purchase I was looking at the specs and it said "Windows 11 Pro S". There's no Windows 11 Pro S, so I believe there was a typo in the description on Amazon. So here's my question. How can my daughter verify the version of Windows before creating an account and logging in? The reason I ask is because if it turns out the computer is Windows 11 Home S then she will not be able to use it for work and she has to return it. That's the reason I don't want her to log in and activate the system before verifying the version. At the start of the activation and before logging into a Microsoft account can you press Windows R and run winver? If you need more information, please ask. The laptop will be delivered to tomorrow (July 26) so a quick reply would be appreciated. Thanks!
Window's update installation problem
My system has been a part of windows insider program by manually or i have taken it by mistake so right now i am not able to install any update in my system like security update of 11 month and windows 25h2 update as i am trying to install at last moment it is showing failed after several attempts, that update disappears from my system and I want to leave this Windows insider program also. Can anyone help meInnstalling windows on 30 gaming PCs
Is it possible to get a windows install below 32Gb? I don't care about hybernation and sleep among other things. My plan is to run sysprep after installing the programs i want (steam, epicgames, discord and so on) and copy the disk image to a USB. Then i will boot into linux mint from another USB, and write the image directly to the disk. Is there a more practical way? I know about Clonezilla, but i will be limited by the 1Gb connection.
