When will Microsoft make the Edge browser remember SharePoint login credentials?

We are using SharePoint 2013 on-premise. My manager asked me to evaluate the feasibility of introducing Edge browser to our Windows 10 and SharePoint users, pushing it as the default for business web applications. 

I searched the discussions and after a quick skim, I cannot see a similar post.

Among the other deficiencies I found while testing Edge, one glaring one is that we cannot get it to remember a user's login credentials to our SharePoint 2013 server.  I cannot find answers or an explanation anywhere. 

Is anyone else experiencing this? What's the fix?

Is the site in the Intranet Zone in IE's zoning? Anyhow, this is an Edge issue, not a SharePoint-specific problem and would need to be addressed by the Edge team.

FWIW: The fix was to edit the Windows user credentials vault to add the SharePoint domain and subdomains to saved Windows credentials.
