The option to create word document, excel, etc has disappeared after i added a custom content type

Inside the built-in Documents library, we have those options to create different document types:-

now I defined a new custom content type named "custom document", and i added it to the Documents library and i removed the built-in custom Document content type, as follow:-

but after doing so , the options to create document types such as word, excel, powerpoint and so on disappeared as follow:-

so what is the reason? and what is the "custom document" we are getting?

Solution
It's because it's part of your content type, that's how it works when you add them. As you can attach a document template to that.
