Shipped to 50%: Flow for libraries

Microsoft

Flow for modern document libraries and the ability to launch flows interactively for lists and libraries has shipped to 50% of Office 365 customers today. We had released these features to First Release at the end of March. Since going to First Release, we have added the ability to also trigger any flows that are shared with you when an item is selected in the list or library and the Flow button is clicked.

We see Flow as an important way to increase the usefulness of lists and libraries by automating repeated tasks and connecting to other data sources. The features released today help to automate frequent actions in libraries and manually trigger a series of automated actions for selected items.

SharePoint will continue to add capabilities to drive more automation using Microsoft Flow in the coming weeks. Please continue to give us feedback here, or in the Flow community which we will keep monitoring for prioritizing our features. Some of the improvements we are working on right now are: ability to write to choice, people and lookup columns; new properties like link to the item, folder path, and file name, and new templates that make use of these additional capabilties.

Also please tune in to SharePoint Virtual Summit on May 16, where we will share our future plans for Flow integration and much more.

Please remember that Flows are governed by the data policies that every Office 365 administrator can set up to indicate what other services (Microsoft or otherwise) data in SharePoint can interact with. You can review how to set these up using the guidelines published here

We expect to move this feature to all of our remaining customers over the coming weeks.

Give Flow in libraries a try today, and let us know what you think!
