I am trying to move files and folders from one library to another. During the course I could see the files getting dumped to recycle bin and parallelly been moved as well. Is this expected?
Yes, this is normal. I think functionally on the back end it's copying and deleting, not moving, because it has to cross site boundaries. If you move within a single library, it's behaves better.
