My Outlook for Mac (ver. 16.24 (if I remember correctly), downloaded from Office 365) seems not to accept two-factor authentication for an outlook.com e-mail account. A Microsoft page I saw yesterday but cannot find today indicated that Outlook for Mac 2016 should be able to accommodate 2FA. (I have no recollection whether the stored credentials for an Exchange (O365) account on the same machine has 2FA or an app password.)
(1) Should the most recent Outlook for Mac be able to work with two-factor authentication for an outlook.com account?
(2) Can it work with 2FA for an Exchange Online account?
