Working with multiple teams accounts across two orgs

Copper Contributor

I work at org1 which uses teams.  We're engaging with org2 which also uses teams.  A subset of people in org2 have IDs within org1.

So now I'm trying to work out the *best* way for the subset of people in org2 to chat with a subset of people in org1 on some project work, via Teams.

I think the two options are:

  1. org2 people sign in to the web teams with their org1 IDs, and Bob's your uncle
  2. org1 enables guest access on their teams

I'm familiar with #1 above.  I'm not familiar with #2.  Does it provide any advantages that make it worth pursuing?  And are there any other options worth considering?

Thank you for your help.

as A guest user you can do most stuff about collaborating in a Team. You don’t need a license either. I don’t see a reason out of your post that they should have a full account in both orgs just to collaborate.
