Teams Webinar Functions, do we have a date on if any of these options will change?

Setup and registration

  • Presenter only Bios – Only presenter bios are visible and cannot be turned off. This means that if a presenter needs organiser privileges then their bio will not be shown.
  • External presenters cannot be invited as organisers limiting some of their options. They also cannot be given organiser rights afterwards.

During the webinar

  • Recording - No control over layout – The recording layout "best fits" all the feeds. It doesn't match what is being recorded by the person that started the recording. This has caused video feeds to be cropped, especially landscape webcam feeds.
  • Layout – As with recording there is no way to reliably control what attendees see. Potentially problematic with wider camera angles.
  • Q&A not visible by presenters If Q&A is managed. Only organizers can see questions. The only other option is for everyone to see all questions (attendees, presenters and organisers)
  • In webinar chat – There is no private chat between organisers and presenters to discuss anything discreetly during the webinar. This is especially problematic when presenters cannot see the questions if they are managed.
  • No handouts for both internal and external attendees.

Post webinar

  • No post webinar survey/questionnaire – Organisers use this to gain feedback on the webinar content or to ask additional questions after the webinar.
  • No follow up e-mail – Teams only has one that is sent if the recording is published via teams.
  • We need a way to host the recordings for people to watch afterwards. This includes external viewing. Recordings may also require post production so hosting them "raw" on teams is not an option.
  • No way to export information apart from attendees, for example poll results and questions.
