Is it possible to receive Teams Messages via SMS during off hours?

My team frequently receives important communications after hours or on weekends. We're looking for a way to have those messages sent via SMS to our team chat as we do not have work phones or plan on installing Teams on our personal phones. I've found documentation on how to send an SMS to Teams but nothing on Teams to SMS.

In teams that is not possible, since as you wrote you could install the Teams app. I suggest instead that you look in to Power Automate and create a flow that send a SMS. It could be trigged when someone mention you in a channel, then add a check for time of day, and the add one of the SMS connectors. SMS connectors is a premium service from a third party, there are some different.
