It's great we got a free renewal year for our MCT fees but I found out something disturbing about these fees. Just about every other country except the US and UK is about $100 to renew their MCT in a more normal year.
I think the years of gouging countries like the US by charging higher rates just because you can should be over. $800 for MCT renewal is a lot of money. If you make an average of $60k per year then that is more than 2% of someone's income after taxes are considered. I think $100 is a fair fee for us as well. I have spent years obtaining and renewing my certifications. It's time to give back every year.
