Use AD security groups in Office 365.?

Hi,

We have our AD users and security groups dirsynced to Azure AD.
From a sub-site, can I go to Site Settings >> People and Groups and use one of our synced groups to manage staff permissions for that site or sub-site?

Yes, you should be able to do so. Some functionality (sharing) will require mail-enabled security groups however.

Vasil is correct, you can use security groups or e-mail enabled security groups coming from your local AD in SPO sites
