Renewed my Office 365 subscription but I don't have access permissions!

My Office 365 subscription successfully renewed on 17 July 2020 (confirmed by email).  I haven't tried to open any documents until now and Word won't allow me to open a document, stating "Word cannot open the document: user does not have access privileges". It then states "Cannot open Information Document - This document has been deleted or is not currently accessible".

 

To begin with, Excel also wouldn't open but then started to download the update and is now okay.  

 

I'm unsure what to do about Word as no update has appeared and I can't use it at all.

 

I've sent an email to Microsoft but don't know how long it will take to hear from them and I need to open the Word document quite soonish.

 

I'd be grateful for any advice.
