Microsoft Edge update 121.0.2277.83 has broken the ability to open file URLS (File://). With the IntranetFileLinksEnabled policy enabled, the links are supposed to open up in File Explorer. After Edge updates from 120 to 121, clicking on links pointing to a File URL (starts with Fiile://) results in a blank page with "about:blank#blocked" in the Address field. My organization's Intranet has a menu with links pointing to various network shares, this is causing a lot of headaches. Anyone else running into this? Any fixes or workarounds? Thanks.

Use your GPOs to block the upgrade then perform a DOWNGRADE INSTALL of build 120.

msiexec /I FileName.msi /qn ALLOWDOWNGRADE=1
Get the 120 build from here, under "Looking for an older version of Edge?": https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/download

@NC-DOC Update: We implemented a rollback to version 120 and opened a ticket with Microsoft Support. They verified the issue and referred it to Edge developers.
On Thursday, Microsoft updated Edge to 121.0.2277.98. That version also has the same issue, blocking the Intranet file links.
However, Microsoft also released new versions of Edge Beta, Dev, and Canary. I tested with those: Edge Beta and Dev still have the issue. Edge Canary, which shows as version 123.0.2382.0, does not block the links, they opened in File Explorer okay.
Of course, won't be rolling out Canary version, but nice to know a fix is on the way.
