[Wayland] PWAs no longer appear as separate app windows — all group under main Edge icon
Hi, Since around 2025-09-07 to 2025-09-10, I’ve noticed that on GNOME (Wayland) all installed PWAs (even across different profiles) now appear grouped under the main Edge browser icon in the GNOME Shell dash/taskbar. Previously, each PWA would open in its own window group with its own icon. This is still the behavior in Chromium/Brave/Chrome, and can be restored there by editing the PWA’s .desktop file to set: StartupWMClass=<same value as Icon> However, Edge now seems to ignore StartupWMClass completely on Wayland, breaking workspace separation and making task switching hard. Environment: Ubuntu 25.04 GNOME 48.0 / Mutter (Wayland) Kernel 6.14.0-29 Intel Iris Xe GPU Edge (latest stable, observed post 2025-09-13) Repro steps: Install any PWA (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Spotify) from Edge Launch it (from any profile) Observe that it appears grouped under the main Edge browser icon Expected: PWA shows under its own icon and window group like in Chromium-based browsers Actual: All PWAs are bundled into the main Edge window group Editing StartupWMClass in the .desktop file no longer helps This regression makes PWAs much harder to manage on Wayland. Please route to the Linux/Wayland team if possible. Thanks!AZia_atsgnetJan 14, 2026Copper Contributor1.3KViews10likes17CommentsUnable to Access Google Account Due to Lost Linked Recovery Email

Not sure if there is a option to turn this off on Edge as I have not looked. So all was fine with my setup I have BIND9.16.50 I have Acrylic DNS Proxy to send DNS to the bind server then the bind kept crashing and it seem Edge is now doing DNS by TCP in the clear if it can resulting Acrylic DNS Proxy to do DNS by TCP to bind I don't know why Microsoft has done this anyone know? After some testing to stop BIND from crashing you need to increase a added option for “tcp-clients” I set to 1000 the default was 150Legacy1Jan 08, 2026Brass Contributor55Views0likes2CommentsInstallation Issue in Microsoft Edge
In my Machine i currently have Microsoft Edge for MAC 143.0.3650.80, and I am trying to update the app Microsoft Edge for MAC 143.0.3650.96 through the PKG installer from the website. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/download?form=MA13FJ https://msedge.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/39c16afe-6ffe-42f8-aa82-4dd057fcf1d5/MicrosoftEdge-143.0.3650.96.pkg The installation appears to be successful, but the app has not been updated. Upon checking the logs, it seems the installation was not completed and skipping PackageKit: Skipping component "com.microsoft.edgemac" (143.0.3650-143.0.3650-*) because the version 143.0.3650-143.3650.25121080-* is already installed at /Applications/Microsoft Edge.app. Is there any issue in above PKG installer? Can anyone help with this issue?GraceKeralinJan 07, 2026Copper Contributor37Views0likes0CommentsColor Themes in Edge
Canary Edge color themes changed to dark around build .3705 and is still dark on build .3741. Dev Edge color themes is still light on build .3734. Top is Dev, bottom Canary. Does anyone know if there is a flag regulating this? I've literally stopped using Canary Edge now.CrazyKatsJan 06, 2026Iron Contributor66Views1like2Comments[tab-group feature suggestion] Add a 'current tab' notion in tab groups
I like the tab group feature to organize tabs, but clicking a tab group tab has a completely different user experience as clicking a non-grouped tab. By adding a current tab in a tab group, the user experience can be more unified: clicking a tab activates it (brings it to the foreground), clicking a tab group tab activates the current tab in the tab group. This allows for quickly swithing between the 'documentation' for the tab you're working with and the 'project' for the tab you're working with, for instance. The current functionality of 'expanding' the tab group can be moved to the right-click context menu.rhoog-ineJan 05, 2026Copper Contributor22Views0likes0Comments
