Latest Edge Dev .deb installer installs Google Repo

Package: microsoft-edge-dev
Version: 145.0.3775.0-1
Architecture: amd64
Maintainer: Microsoft Edge for Linux Team <email address removed for privacy reasons>

 

Containing postinst script:

`REPOCONFIG="deb [arch=amd64] https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main"`

That ain't a MS Repo and conflicts with Google Chrome.

      Hello pavan1709​ !

      If you want to correct this behaviour (at least on Fedora, tested here) you have to change the line "REPOCONFIG" in /etc/cron.daily/microsoft-edge from the wrong Google URL to:

      https://packages.microsoft.com/yumrepos/edge

    Nobody with the permission or capabilities to fix this one month old reported issue seems to read this Tech Community, I´m seriously considering why to bother posting here?

    I get the same issue on Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS - seems the deb pulled by apt, and the deb live on the download page of Edge are both affected by this. Does anyone still have what the repo should have be

      https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/edge

      For Fedora:

      https://packages.microsoft.com/yumrepos/edge

    I get the same issue on Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS - seems the deb pulled by apt, and the deb live on the download page of Edge are both affected by this. Does anyone still have what the repo should have be

    I have the same issue with Ubuntu and microsoft-edge-beta 145.0.3800.53
    Really annoying.
