Dolby stereo audio playback failure on Windows 10 since Edge 141
Hi there, I'd like to report a regression I recently discovered: Dolby Stereo is failing to play in Edge, but Dolby 5.1 channel doesn't experience this issue. The issue can be reproduced using AC3 audio generated by FF.mpeg. Run the following FF.mpeg command to encode a short AC3 stereo audio clip containing noise into an MP4 file. Drag and drop the file into Edge; you'll observe playback failure, and you can also find the failure log in edge://media-internals/. ff mpeg -f lavfi -i anoisesrc -c:a ac3 -ac 2 -y 2ch.mp4 Changing the encoding channel in the FF.mpeg command -ac to 6 (5.1) will allow the audio to be played in Edge. ff mpeg -f lavfi -i anoisesrc -c:a ac3 -ac 6 -y 6ch.mp4 The same is true for EAC3 audio. Just need to change the -c:a parameter to eac3. For more contexts, I'm not on a fresh installation of Windows 11. I'm still on Windows 10, so https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/medfound/dolby-audio-decoder is still available. I'm currently on 142.0.3595.53 (stable). I've also tested 144.0.3658.0 (canary), but the issue persists. Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks in advance.Duplicating windows regression with 143.0.3638.1
Has anyone else ran into this issue lately in 143.0.3638.1 where merely clicking links (e.g, links from Windows 11 applications) spawns duplicate windows of all your existing tabs in addition to the new tab (rather than re-using the existing window?) Windows 11 25H2 143.0.3638.1 Example: Open Settings in Windows 11, Windows Update, click the Learn More link. If it doesn't work the first time, it will happen on the second. A duplicate second window open with all your tabs in Edge (minus pinned tabs). What a weird regression.
Edge Dev CreateProcess bug
I'm using Edge Dev Version 143.0.3638.1 (Official build) dev (64-bit) downloaded from https://msedge.sf.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com/filestreamingservice/files/3b9b41d3-7038-420a-bb07-66fe54926f0f/MicrosoftEdgeDevEnterpriseX64.msi Opening a new Edge instance by using the code: BOOL bRet = ::CreateProcess((LPCTSTR)L"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft\\Edge Dev\\Application\\msedge.exe", (LPWSTR)L" --new-window www.bing.com", NULL, NULL, FALSE, CREATE_DEFAULT_ERROR_MODE, NULL, NULL, &si, &pi); is no longer working. I can see the process starting and then terminating quickly. It works though when using Edge Version 141.0.3537.99 (Official build) (64-bit). Is this the correct place to report & track the bug?
Are there any fix for hardware acceleration issues?
I am no longer using Edge because on Windows there are some issues that appear to be related to hardware acceleration, bugging what the browser renders, and have to resize it's window to fix. It happens on specific websites and mostly while gaming. On MacOS M1/M4 doesn't happens. On iOS 18/26 there were some issues related to scrolling on some websites (I think related to ads) . To fix, have to go back or close the tab. I really like Edge, but these issues made me migrate to Firefox (no issues), using only Edge on the business computer.. Will there be a fix for chromium based applications or by Edge it self some day?MS Edge on Android has a bottom address bar glitch
When the address bar is moved to the bottom, there's a strange gap present between the bar itself and the omnibox (I guess that's what it's called). Also, when bottom bar placement is selected, the search suggestions appear in reversed order - best suggestions should be displayed at the end of the list, instead they are shown at the top and the list has to be scrolled through. This is Edge 141.03537.99 on Galaxy S23 with Android 16.

I am not aware how it got installed although The source of the extension is the "Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store but not able to find it on store. Since the last edge update we are running into the following issue, which triggers support tickets on our side. It seems that the edge internal PDF Reader now supports validation of digital PDF signatures. This new feature however is incomplete and causes a lot of confusion for edge users. "Official" signatures are labeled as "Unknown Signature" and "The validity of the signature is still unknown": "Official signatures" means qualified signatures from members of the EUTL - the European trust list as defined in ETSI TS 119 612 („Trusted Lists“): [...] the European Commission publishes a central list with links to the locations where the national trusted lists are published as notified by Member States. This central list, called the List Of Trusted Lists (LOTL), is available in both a human readable format and in a format suitable for automated (machine) processing XML. Parts of the edge PDF reader seems to come from *dobe itself which adds additional confusion since in their products (*dobe reader, acrobat etc) the signatures are correctly verified. They support this list for several years now (next to their own AATL list). I tried to find out whether this feature is 'work-in-progress' or it is a bug however the last published roadmap is quite old and doesn't give helpful information regarding this aspect. So my question is: Is full support of PDF signature validation including support of the EUTL planned and if so when?Friend's redeemed store credit doesn't get added to account (Microsoft Rewards)
A friend of mine from Texas has been trying for a while to redeem points from the Microsoft Rewards program for store credit, mainly to buy a game she really wants to play, but she never gets the credit. She gets confirmation mail regarding the store credit, but she was never able to redeem the store credit. No code, no additional dollars added to her account, nothing. I never had this issue before, but I suppose it's simply because I'm from another country where the rewards program still allows you to redeem store credit through codes. In Texas, if I read it correctly, the store credit is supposed to be added to the account almost instantly, but it seems like the store credit is still pending. It doesn't help that it has to be spent in 3 months' time, and she had been attempting to redeem the store credit for so long that a lot of it may already be expired before she even properly receives it. She tried contacting support, but got little to nothing out of it. I'd like to get in touch with someone and see if this issue can be resolved. She is having it rough and I just can't stand there and be unable to help her. Can anyone help her (or perhaps us) out? I'd really appreciate it.
On Facebook, I can't select a number of things
When I go into settings and try to change my password, Facebook asks me to select an account--Facebook or Instagram, and Edge won't let me select either of them. When I click on notifications, and bring up replies or likes on any of my posts, I can't select anything, including likes, and I'm forced to go to my profile page in order to interact. This works fine in Google Chrome.
