Open all tabs from previous session but load only last used one
I'm used to work with a lot of tabs organized in several groups and I don't want to lose such tabs when I close and then reopen Edge. This is achievable through settings and I've no complains over it. However, when I open Edge, I expect only the last used tab to load, or at most the tabs from the last group I was using. It is absurd that all the 50+ tabs, splitted in 10+ groups, are loaded all at once, making the startup process very slow. I come from Firefox, where all the tabs from the previous session appears, but only the last used one actually loads. The other ones are loaded only once the user browse on them. The very existence of groups assumes an user is expected to keep a lot of tabs open but to work only with a very small subset of them at a given time. So it's absurd to waste resources, increase power consumption and reduce startup performances by loading all the tabs from the last session, even if most of them will probably not be used.Sidebar apps saving not intuitive
I've just discovered browsing on the internet that it is possible to save the list of apps opened on the sidebar. I've been missing such feature for over a month. I must say the current way of making sure an app is saved is not intuitive at all. I never realized there was a tiny little horizontal bar until I read about it on the internet. There should be a button to save a given app in the sidebar, so the user can find out this feature, otherwise he/she could end up never discovering it is actually possible to save sidebar apps.Lateral tabs related shortcuts
I love the lateral tabs feature and the tab groups as well, I use it a lot at my work place. However, there are at least a couple of keyboard shortcuts that should be added in order to improve the user productivity: a shortcut to open a new tab in the group the current tab belong to: when I'm working with the tabs from a given group, is like I'm working with that group, and if I open a new tab, it's very likely I want to open it in that very group. a shortcut to pin/unpin lateral tabs It goes without saying that for users who need to maximize their productivity it makes a big difference to be able to carry out the most frequent tasks by means of keyboard shortcuts.
Problem with pdf print preview with cyrillic fonts
Hello, we have a problem - after version 129 in print preview all cyrillic symbols are hidden( but it still avaiable to copy) Checked version: 131.0.2903.63 Opened file - it's ok: PrintPreview - problem: This problem is not for all pdf documents. We get it from libriary report-generator wich should add fonts to pdf. Used fonts - Arial, Times New RomanCache browser
I’m having an issue with Microsoft Edge: it crashes every time I try to open a specific website. The browser freezes and then shuts down completely. Interestingly, the site terus works perfectly on Chrome and Firefox, so the problem seems exclusive to Edge. I’ve already tried clearing the cache and disabling all extensions, but it hasn’t resolved the issue. Has anyone else faced something similar or found a solution? Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Opening Links From Favorites?
Just switched back to Edge from Firefox, as I missed the performance and page rendering of Edge. But, upon coming back, I noticed that I can't find any setting that allows me to open a favorites link in a new tab. I recall I used to be able to do this in Edge. Was this removed? If so, why? Is it planned for an upcoming release? I'd say that this goes in the category of expected behaviors from a UX perspective, for any browser. Should I submit a request for this? TIA, -bjk
iframe auto sandboxed ?
I just upgraded to version 132.0.2945.0 in the Dev Edge channel. There seems to be a breaking change around default behaviour on iframes: I have an iframe embeded into a page, both the iframe and the page having the same origin. I load the iframe without the 'sandbox' parameters, meaning this is a plain iframe. Starting with this version of edge, I get new errors when the iframe loads and the console says: Uncaught SecurityError: Failed to read the 'sessionStorage' property from 'Window': The document is sandboxed and lacks the 'allow-same-origin' flag. The code inside the iframe is trying to save context data to the sessionStorage, this used to work flawlessly in previous versions. So it seems that this iframe has been sandboxed by Edge although this is not asked by the surrounding webpage. I could not find any reference to this new behaviour in the release notes. Thanks for any insights !
