Microsoft Edge, strange TCP connections
Just wondering why in this current climate my Edge Browser would need to connect to Russia...?Steven007100720073Mar 03, 2026Copper Contributor6Views0likes0CommentsDesktop icons flicker for one second when closing Microsoft Edge
Hello, I would like to report a regression affecting Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Starting with version 145.0.3800.70, and still present in the current stable version 145.0.3800.82, closing the Edge window causes the desktop icons to flicker for about one second, as if the desktop is being refreshed. This issue occurs only on Windows 10. On Windows 11, the same versions of Edge do not produce this behavior. The flicker happens consistently every time Edge is closed, and it does not occur with any other application.EDIMicrosoftMar 01, 2026Copper Contributor83Views0likes0CommentsEdge with Bing - "Microsoft Bing trending suggestions in the address bar"
I would like to remove the suggestions from the search bar however when this setting has been disabled, instead of completely removing the news suggestions it has shifted to the right, taking up half the space and the other half on the left is my previous searches. Anyone know how to completely remove any news trending suggestions and not simply have it appear despite being disabled ? If not, I'll just swap to google and block Bing for myself / other users. Thank youJamieWildingFeb 25, 2026Copper Contributor40Views0likes0CommentsOutlook suddenly cannot access Gmail
I suddenly started getting a message in Outlook saying "SIGN IN: Your account email address removed for privacy reasons needs attention, please sign in to use your account" It was followed by a button labeled "Sign in via browser". When I press that button, I'm taken to the following webpage: But when I press Continue I get the following error: You have denied Office access to Google - IMAP. Please grant Office access to Google - IMAP and try again. After a lengthy back-and-forth with ChatGPT, I ended up deleting my Gmail account in Outlook as well as my IMAP credentials in Windows 11, but it did not fix the problem. When I try to add back the account, I get all the same errors in all the same places. I found one post on the internet where a use claimed to have fixed this problem by changing the names of the IMAP & SMTP server in Outlook: In Outlook, add the account as IMAP manually: IMAP server: change imap.gmail.com to imap.googlemail.com Port: 993 SMTP server: change smtp.gmail.com to smtp . googlemail.com Port: 465 None of that helps.pluviosillaFeb 19, 2026Brass Contributor150Views0likes1CommentEdge rendering inside a container that cuts off pixels
Hello. In Microsoft Edge version 145.0.3800.58 (Official Build) (64-bit), web pages are displayed by default within a container with rounded corners and padding on all sides. This results in pixels being lost in height and width. It also means that CSS definitions with a min-width for common resolutions such as Full HD (1920px in width) or WQHD (2560px in width) do not apply. Many front-end frameworks rely on these pixel thresholds to dynamically adjust container sizes. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but as so often in the long, sad history of Microsoft web browsers, common web standards are once again being ignored. This time it's for a feature that no one really needs, but which once again causes extra work for many web developers. Ever since I started working in web development, back when the dreadful Microsoft Internet Explorer was still widely used, it has always been extremely labour-intensive to adjust websites for Microsoft browsers. This has caused a great deal of frustration over the decades, and there seems to be no end in sight. Integrating the Chromium engine into Edge was a promising first step. But perhaps Microsoft could also start respecting web standards outside of the engine? I'm sure that hundreds of millions of web developers would be grateful. I suppose hope dies last 😉NormanLFeb 16, 2026Copper Contributor18Views0likes0CommentsWhen using touch mode, clicking the "extension" button on the toolbar causes Edge to crash
Version 146.0.3844.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit) When using touch mode, clicking the extensions button on the toolbar causes Edge to freeze for two to three seconds before crashing. Accessing edge://extensions/ displays normal functionality, I can open extension detail pages and configure settings without issue. Reinstalling Edge or uninstalling all extensions resolves the problem. Disabling touch mode restores normal behaviour.Re__hdFeb 16, 2026Copper Contributor42Views0likes1CommentRegression: Vertical tabs no longer collapse in fullscreen (F11) after latest Edge update
After the latest Microsoft Edge update, the vertical tab sidebar no longer collapses when entering fullscreen mode (F11). Previously, when fullscreen was enabled, the vertical tabs would automatically collapse or hide, allowing the webpage to use the full screen space. Now the vertical tab bar remains visible, reducing usable screen area. Steps to reproduce: Enable Vertical Tabs in Microsoft Edge Open any website Press F11 to enter fullscreen mode Observe that the vertical tab sidebar remains visible Expected behavior: Vertical tabs should collapse or automatically hide in fullscreen mode, as they did in earlier versions. Actual behavior: The vertical tab sidebar stays visible during fullscreen instead of collapsing. Additional testing: Tested in a Guest profile (fresh profile with default settings); issue still occurs Happens across different websites Restarting Edge does not fix the issue Edge version: 145.0.3800.58 (Official build) (64-bit)shashankpandey04Feb 15, 2026Copper Contributor438Views5likes4Comments
