Hi everyone! I'm experiencing a strange issue with the search suggestions when using bottom bar mode. In Microsoft Edge, there's a blank space between the input bar and the suggestions above it, as shown in the attached image (see the red line). Is anyone else seeing this bug? Any idea how to fix it? Thanks in advance63Views0likes1CommentChrome and Edge flickering/lagging on second monitor (MSI GE75, RTX 2070) - Firefox works fine
Hello. I have an issue with my MSI GE75 laptop running Windows 11 with an RTX 2070. When I use a second monitor Dell connected via HDMI, content inside Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome starts flickering and lagging. Firefox works fine on the same setup. The laptop is MSI GE75 with RTX 2070 and Intel iGPU. The second monitor is a Dell. Browsers affected are Edge and Chrome. Browser not affected is Firefox. I set Edge and Chrome to run on the RTX 2070 in Windows graphics settings. All drivers are updated. All settings are on maximum. The issue is flickering and micro freezes while scrolling or playing videos on the second monitor. This does not happen on the main laptop display. I already tried switching Edge and Chrome to High performance GPU RTX 2070 in Windows settings with no effect. I updated NVIDIA and Intel drivers with no effect. I disabled hardware acceleration in Edge and Chrome which reduces the issue but performance drops. I set both monitors to the same refresh rate 60 Hz but the problem persists. Since the problem only happens with Chromium based browsers and only on the second monitor, I suspect it could be related to how Microsoft rendering pipeline interacts with Chromium hardware acceleration. Firefox which uses a different rendering backend works fine. My questions are: Why does this only happen with Chromium based browsers but not Firefox? Is this related to how Windows and Chromium handle GPU acceleration on a second monitor? Is there a known fix or workaround to make Edge and Chrome work properly on the second monitor? Thank you in advance for any advice.18Views0likes0CommentsEdge PDF reader comment issue
Hi all, I tumbled upon an issue with Edge PDF reader, while adding comments in a PDF document. Issue While adding comments in my document, everything was working fine until it wasn't (added around ten comments before it stopped working). Basically I'm able to open the comment popup and type my comment, but unable to validate it. I did some digging online and found this tread (sadly closed) where user encountered the same issue. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/all/adding-comments-to-pdf-edge-document/92b96c52-a1e3-4433-a58e-29c76691fa7c I tried to work around the issue by restarting my browser, which did not help. However, it seemed to me that it's a mouse focus issue. How to reproduce it I got the issue while using two Edge windows side by side on the same monitor (each taking half the screen), while having a second monitor (that I use for other stuff) aside. The problem seems to solve itself somehow after some time when closing one of the two Edge window and putting the other in full screen. When I try to add a comment, I first highlight the text, then clic on the comment button on the popup menu and type my comment. However, when I want to validate the comment, the wrong cursor is displayed when I hover the "validate" button (the text insert cursor instead of the hand). I have to clic once (the text in the PDF doc previously highlighted is no more) which change the cursor to an arrow, then another clic which closes the comment menu, whitout adding the comment. Workaround I managed to add a comment in this situation by typing the comment, then using the tab key to select the "validate key" and press the enter key, and it worked. On a side note, I find it quite complicated to submit feedback, I think I spent a good half an hour before reaching this forum (I don't even know if it's the right place). Anyhow, I hope it can help163Views1like1Comment[SOLVED] Can't login on Edge anymore! (Login and Sync issue)
UPDATE 10 APRIL: Finally got a hold on https://support.microsoft.com/, initiated a live chat with support, and they had to install Install Quick Assist (Install Quick Assist - Microsoft Support) and they had to enter my PC and check what was wrong. They had no idea what was happening at the time (this all happened a few weeks ago - sorry for the late reply ut I had a lot of work delayed due to this error) and reinstalled Windows = issue solved. The following day however, windows asked me to update again and the issue returned ahahahaha but I removed it, and then the following system updates didn't carry that sign in issue anymore. Thank you all for your help and support during these VERY STRESSFUL DAYS! Hope the issue got solved for everyone! ____________________________________________________________ UPDATE 25TH - 4:52 GMT: - Run every possible workaround thanks to comments on my Microsoft Community thread and here (Tech) (Thank you everyone!) - Can't get pass the edge login pop-up => can't sync and have access to workspaces; - Already reported twice on Alt + Shift + I (with screen recording video and photos); - No 3rd party antivirus issue; - Some people on the Community post were able to surpass this by uninstalling KB5035853 - but I don't have it; - Using Windows 10 Home version 22H2, with Edge version: 123.0.2420.53 (64 bits) [also tried on Edge Beta version: 123.0.2420.53, but uninstalled it for now] ____________________________________________________________ UPDATE: 22nd OF MARCH: There was already some suggestions left here (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftedge/forum/all/cant-login-on-edge-anymore-sync-issue/6433b1dc-0f99-401f-86e6-90b36c7f2d34but it didn't work. Anyone? Please? _______ original message posted on 20th March _______ Already hit restore on windows' applications and restarted my pc, but every time I open Microsoft Edge now, on the top right corner it says my account is not logged in. And when I try to do it, the pop-up window says it's loading and then just turns to all white. Anyone can help me please? Don't want to lose my favourites, passwords and workspaces ;_; 1) already deleted all cookies 2) already confirmed if it was an issue with the Wi-Fi 3) already hit «repair» twice on the program 4) already tried to add a new account (didn't work cause the issue with the popup to login is the same) 5) already disabled all extensions and tried to login again after that 6) my account is not blocked - in fact I can login on Microsoft with it on my phone and website (otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this question). The issue is only with logging in on the Edge browser. 7) already deleted and reinstalled Edge. And yes, I restarted my pc every time I tried something. What else can I do? I need to access my Edge Workspaces!30KViews2likes28CommentsEdge Read Aloud feature fails on landscape PDF documents with tables.
I've encountered an issue with the Read Aloud feature in Microsoft Edge when opening PDF documents in landscape orientation that contain tables. The Read Aloud option is available and can be activated, but it gets stuck loading indefinitely and never starts reading. No error message is shown. In contrast, the same feature works perfectly with portrait-oriented PDFs, even when those PDFs include tables. I tested this on both Windows and macOS with up-to-date Edge versions. The issue appears to be consistent and not OS-specific. My clients use tables in landscape PDFs for better readability and formatting. It’s unclear whether the problem is due to the landscape orientation alone or the combination of landscape + tables. However, tables in portrait PDFs do not cause any issues. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Is there a known fix or workaround? Would appreciate any feedback or confirmation from the Edge team.42Views0likes0CommentsFeature Badge Request
Hello, How can I request a feature badge for my extension on the Edge Add-ons Store? My extension, https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/free-vpn-proxy-1vpn/dalhgafbhpdolibignjckpmiejgfddjp, follows Microsoft’s best practices for privacy, security, and user experience. It has more users and a higher rating than many VPN proxy extensions that currently have a feature badge. Without the badge, it doesn’t even show up when https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/search/1vpn, which seems like a poor experience for users. Thank You51Views0likes0CommentsFeature Request – Browser Lock for Enhanced Security in Microsoft Edge Mobile
Dear Microsoft Edge Development Team, I propose adding a Browser Lock feature in Edge Mobile to strengthen security. Given privacy concerns, a biometric authentication or passcode mechanism would help protect saved passwords, browsing history, and sensitive data from unauthorized access. This feature would enhance user privacy and position Edge as a leading secure mobile browser. I look forward to your feedback.34Views0likes0CommentsMy Edge Bookmarks has gone
My Edge bookmarks had disappeared a few days ago. I've find the file "Bookmarks.bak" from "%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default", but it didn't have "Bookmarks.old" in it, so I CAN'T recover the bookmarks to Edge. I've heard a few users have the same problem.2KViews1like3CommentsComment icons in the PDF reader are too big and cover text
Hi all, recently, the comment icons in the PDF viewer have gotten fatter and now they obscure the text I would like to read (see the pictures). Is there a way to make them smaller, move them, or revert them to their former glory? It gets annoying having to guess the intended words. Thanks.365Views0likes0CommentsSuggestion: Add page up and Page down button to PDF reader in Microsoft Edge
I have been using Microsoft Edge PDF reader for months now and have been loving it but the problem I find when using different PDF readers such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Teams PDF reader is that there is no page up and page down button in PDF reader in Microsoft Edge. I sometimes want to just go to the next page or the previous page but then I need to manually scroll to change the page, if there is an up and down button then it would just take me to the next page with a click and also align the page properly from the start in the window. If you like this suggestion, please consider sending feedback about it through the in-app feedback tool (Alt+Shift+I) in Microsoft Edge from your side as it would give this suggestion a +1 helping it make a part of Microsoft Edge in the future.11KViews2likes8Comments
