Microsoft Edge Workspaces deleted/hidden after update.

The solution was posted by Gian in the following Microsoft Q&A thread:

After investigating this independently, I can confirm that Gian's findings are correct.

Since Edge 147+, the old workspacesCache approach is no longer valid. To locate Workspace records, open:

edge://sync-internals

Then navigate to:

Sync Node Browser → Edge Workspaces

The Workspace entries can be identified as the records that do not have a parent_guid (top-level Workspace objects).

Credit goes to Gian for publishing the solution first and for providing screenshots in the original thread. I'm posting this here because several related reports, plugins, and discussions still reference the removed workspacesCache mechanism.

Update: I went under my settings (top right bar) and re-synced my Microsoft account and they returned

The same thing happened to me. I updated my computer last night and got to class today and all of my workspaces have just disappeared from my browser for all of my classes and work. I'm not 100% sure what happened but according to some recent posts it may be that Microsoft did away with workspaces/changed how they work in the update and apparently we just have to remake them? I also use the Ecosia extension and I guess that may have something to do with it but it seems less likely. I'm not entirely sure but it definitely is super inconvenient.
