[SOLVED] Can't login on Edge anymore! (Login and Sync issue)
UPDATE 10 APRIL: Finally got a hold on https://support.microsoft.com/,initiated a live chat with support, and they had to install Install Quick Assist (Install Quick Assist - Microsoft Support) and they had to enter my PC and check what was wrong. They had no idea what was happening at the time (this all happened a few weeks ago - sorry for the late reply ut I had a lot of work delayed due to this error) and reinstalled Windows = issue solved. The following day however, windows asked me to update again and the issue returned ahahahaha but I removed it, and then the following system updates didn't carry that sign in issue anymore. Thank you all for your help and support during these VERY STRESSFUL DAYS! Hope the issue got solved for everyone! ____________________________________________________________ UPDATE 25TH - 4:52 GMT: - Run every possible workaround thanks to comments on my Microsoft Community thread and here (Tech) (Thank you everyone!) - Can't get pass the edge login pop-up => can't sync and have access to workspaces; - Already reported twice on Alt + Shift + I (with screen recording video and photos); - No 3rd party antivirus issue; - Some people on the Community post were able to surpass this by uninstalling KB5035853 - but I don't have it; - Using Windows 10 Home version 22H2, with Edge version: 123.0.2420.53 (64 bits) [also tried on Edge Beta version: 123.0.2420.53, but uninstalled it for now] ____________________________________________________________ UPDATE: 22nd OF MARCH: There was already some suggestions left here (Can't login on Edge anymore! And when I try to do it, the pop-up window says it's loading and then just turns to all white. Anyone can help me please? Don't want to lose my favourites, passwords and workspaces ;_; 1) already deleted all cookies 2) already confirmed if it was an issue with the Wi-Fi 3) already hit «repair» twice on the program 4) already tried to add a new account (didn't work cause the issue with the popup to login is the same) 5) already disabled all extensions and tried to login again after that 6) my account is not blocked - in fact I can login on Microsoft with it on my phone and website (otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this question). The issue is only with logging in on the Edge browser. 7) already deleted and reinstalled Edge. And yes, I restarted my pc every time I tried something. What else can I do? Hello First of all, I think that Workspaces in Edge is a very useful feature! Edge also has vertical tabs, which makes it the best tool for researchers using hundreds of tabs. I think other browsers can learn from this. With Workspaces, I can move windows I don’t currently use aside and open them again when needed without loading to RAM. Other browsers lack this feature, so I moved to Edge from Chrome. Edge is now my main tool for ongoing online research. However, after some months of use, I see that there are bugs that make me frustrated. With Workspaces, Edge is slow, it freezes, fails to synchronize, and reverts changes. 1. It does not update tabs and moves new tabs to the end. Let’s say that I have opened tabs: New Tab, facebook.com, A, B, C, D, E Later, I open links in new tabs from New Tab, Facebook, and A and leave them open. The tabs are: New Tab, msn.com/F, facebook.com, G, A, A2, B, C, D, E After some time, Workspaces synchronize, there is a short or longer Edge freeze. Then I see tabs are reorganized and F, G, H moved and changed addresses. The tabs are now: New Tab, facebook.com, A, B, C, D, E, New Tab, l.facebook.com/l.php?u=G, A2 It looks like Workspaces never update opened tabs when there was redirection through New Tab or l.facebook.com/l.php?u= or any other redirection on other websites. It only stores the first address it sees. When I refresh these tabs to see the description and go to the proper addresses, it still reverts it back! After I organize the order properly, it sometimes stays or is reverted back! This is frustrating when you need order and proper descriptions! 2. It is terribly slow, especially after opening another Workspace. I also encountered long freezes of Edge when opening another Workspace window or at random, probably when it synchronizes (a red dot appears next to the workspace name). Sometimes I have to wait 5 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes, sometimes I’m losing patience! I have plenty of PC power (12-core Ryzen 3900X, 32GB RAM, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB) and when I check Process Hacker, I see that Edge isn’t using 100% of CPU, but still is frozen. I noticed that when it’s frozen, there are around 200 disk writes, fast changing, 9MB/s total: C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sync Data\LevelDB\256443.ldb ... (edge_workspace_disk.xls ) When LevelDB writes stop, Edge is unfrozen. I’ve given msedge.exe processes high priority, but it doesn’t solve anything. I noticed this on previous versions starting from 122. I use Stable and Beta (to have two separate profiles) on PC and laptop. I waited hoping it will be solved, but nothing changed.It's possible that developers only tested Workspaces with a limited number of tabs and not with power users like myself, who manage 10 workspaces with 200-600 tabs in each.The consistent unreliability suggests there may be unresolved bugs present in each version. Workspaces sometimes stop syncing randomly and without notification. Occasionally, I notice a mismatch in the workspace between the PC and the laptop I use. If I close the workspace without checking, I will loose the tabs opened since the last sync! There's no notification, I must check if everything is synced or manually compare the opened tabs in the same workspace and then open them manually. After arranging them in the original order, I return to bug #1, which causes a mess when Edge moves tabs around. 4. Issues with Accessing Workspaces. This issue has occurred to me several times and is common among many users: "Error: Unable to load workspaces." Edge Workspaces error V114 - Microsoft Community HubI tried many workarounds, sometimes they worked, yet they are not ideal and a definitive solution remains elusive. Now please tell me that Workspaces aren't still in beta phase. Workspaces are generally excellent tool, but in their current state of development, they are just a joke not worth the frustration and risk of data loss.
Specific workspace crashes Edge (only 14 tabs)
One specific workspace refuses to open up successfully. Instead, it crashes my whole Edge (Dev). I've tried almost every tip out there - disabling all extensions, repairing Edge, restarting Edge and laptop. Also tried in stable and Canary builds. Anyone any ideas on how I might recover the workspace or at least see the tabs I had saved in there so I can recreate it? UPDATE: have just managed to open the workspace in BETA channel (again, crashes in DEV and Canary although DEV has been fine with this workspace until now or at least the last week or so when I must have when I must have last opened it). Edge Linux: Collections and Workspaces
Hey y'all, I use Edge Dev on both Linux (at home) and Windows (at work). I started using Collections recently, and I was upset to find it doesn't work on Edge Linux (yes, my packages are up to date). Although I haven't tried Workspaces yet, it's not working either on Linux. Even if you enable it, it doesn't show up. I can see that the tab expands, but the button doesn't appear. With Collections, enabling has no effect at all. Is this a known bug, or it just doesn't work on Edge Linux yet? Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS x86_64. Workspaces you can create multiple Workspaces in Edge, have tabs in each of them, and when you close all Edge windows and open Edge again, you still have your workspaces, it's like a combination of tabs set aside + tab groups + pinned tabs experimental feature in canary, probably CFR. works really well so farCollections VS Workspaces | two different philosophies of saving tabs
Collectionsand Favorites (of all these tabs I want all of them) The idea of these is that you want to save a set of tabs outside the normal opening and closing of tabs so that they are sort of safe or protected from losing them. Collections differs from favorites in that the tabs are not so important individually and can be saved on mass. An important aspect is that tab saving is somewhat permanent, removing tabs has to be done manually. Workspaces and Tab Set Aside(of all these tabs I want at least one of them) The Idea of workspaces and tab set aside is that you cannot be bothered to know what tabs are important and which are not at the moment and want to "set them aside" for now. No tab is important enough to have a permanent safe place but at least one of them is probably important. Tabs can be added and (more importantly) removed on a whim without manually removing it from its group (just closing a tab) please do not use one of these as a replacement of the other. Suggestion (SS): 6Classification: WORKFLOW - PRODUCTIVITY PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 8-10 in a scala 1 (low) - 10 (high) WARNING: this is not a suggestion for average user with normal workflows. Do you want to make a big difference compared to other browser? Do you want to make a browser for pro extreme user / business people / etc? Implement this feature and you will no 1, you even beat ghostbrowser, sessionbox workspaces, webcatalog, firefox or opera. here an example. you integrate a multi container in session box, firefox, webcatalog or ghostbrowser style, but you integrate a mix between edge and webcatalog too (or something like opera). what does this means? we can have multiple windows (or we can call it workspaces) and multiple tabs inside the same window (no need to see 100x edge windows etc.). if you want, you can use groups too, but these have huge limitations at the moment (if used only inside a normal edge). they would be useful in such workflow (especially if you integrate it in ghostbrowser style). do you use 30 tabs in 1 window and do you want to have 10 other workspace in the same panel (or maybe even 20) --> you will have 300+ tabs in totals. type of usage: 1) with multicontainer integration users can do everything; for example they can use multiple container inside the same workspace 1 (example "E" white in the picture) but even in other workspaces (you just use different accounts for each container in different workspaces) 2) use each workspace with 1 edge profile, this means if you have 10 left tabs (workspaces) you use 10 edge profiles. 3) a mix between 1-2 where you use the same edge profile on every workspaces and then you use only one account as multicontainer inside each workspace or even more complex with 9 workspace with same edge account and the last with a different account 4) use different groups in each workspaces 5) use a mix between 1-4 6) other (the limit is only in your ideas) what should workspaces offer? a different theme for each workspace, like if i install 10 different chrome extensions (new designed tab) or 10 different themes. same like what you see in the picture, where workspace 1 is white, 2 is black, (3 would be green, 4 in blue, 5....). a way to set open tabs x,y,z,w, at launch on workflow 1, without opening it on workflow 2-9 easy way to duplicate a workspace easy way to add a new workspace (for example i can just click on workspace 1 "add tabs to the right to a new workspace"). at the moment we miss such feature in normal edge too (both for left, right or other). this would be a bit similar like select x tabs, drag such tabs out by creating a windows and then click cmd m to create an union of both windows with tabs on the left. a way to import export workflows setting do we want to transfer a link from workspace 1 to 2? we just drag the link to 2.... do we want merge workspace 1 with 2? we drag w1 to w2 and you create a merged workspace (if needed even with a notification "are you sure"). ability to open history selection directly in a new workspace, same for bookmarks ability to pause loading tab for a workspace at all, but you still keep all tabs in the bar ability to add incognito inside a workspace. if i drag drop 30 links from apple notes to the icon +, below the last workspace, you create a new workspace with 30 tabs same like 11, when i do cmd c and then i do cmd v other the + ability to create premade workspace for microsoft products a way to use a workspace only for collections workspace store, where people can share it (if this is limited only for a specific configuration of open tabs) workspace only where we find panel like /setting /extension /download, etc. ability to add personal images to the workspace icon ... if this with multiple edge profiles is to complex, you can do it with 1 edge profile by adding all what i told you before. --------------- All my other suggestions are here:https://link.ws/edgesuggestions Suggestions I liked from other user here:https://link.ws/othersuggestions Chromium suggestions list 1:https://link.ws/chrome1and 2:https://link.ws/chrome2 From end 2020-10 all suggestions are written on both Edge and Chrome at the same time, suggestions before 2020-10 are available only on Chrome. *to avoid a ban from Google, I submit only limited post pro week.
