Email notifications for Drive capacity.

Copper Contributor

Hi All,

I've been looking around for a way to get email notifications sent when certain drives across multiple VM's drop below a certain capacity which i thought would be a relatively simple thing to setup, but after looking across multiple forums this doesn't seem to be the case!

A lot of the bits i read were a year or more old however so i am hoping there is possibly a good way to get this setup now?

Most of the VM’s we use for client app servers are setup with their C: drive and a P: drive.

Some do not have a P: drive.

Our SQL VM’s have a C:, F: and G: drive.

I was hoping to setup a rule against all of these drives across all our VM’s to email my team when they drop under a certain storage amount, 5gb let’s say.

I don't mind if there is no quick way of doing this and an alert needs to be setup on a per drive basis but i was hoping someone could help point me in the direction of how to even do that.

TIA. - Liam.

You can use a PowerShell script scheduled in Runbook to check drives in all servers and send you an email notification.
