Is anyone else having this issue?
I see this was an issue in 2022, but I am having it now. Tried different browsers and computers, still not working.

Still getting the unable to load message, but no longer getting the daily email that I need to connect. So, progress? 🤔
- ______Copper ContributorHey All,
I haven't posted for a while as I gave up on Microsoft, not answering many people who submitted issues about this! Then saying for more than a year (seemed like it) it would be fixed, then admitting there was an issue but not posted for their wider community to see! And on and on. My account did get so called fixed!! Then I got automated emails, again, after a while, asking me to update my credentials, I did, it updated, then emails again, not working. I've moved on now anyway to my ISP email account, end of story (sorry for me anyway)! A Big Thank You to all those who took time to post and respond about this but my advice, give up! Microsoft has gotten so big they don't honestly care, my opinion! I won't be seeing anymore posts so please don't reply to me here, TY.

I finally got past the "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later" message, only to have all of the connected accounts disappear from web portal the next day!
I discovered this when I realized emails weren't downloading unless I had outlook desktop open (otherwise, nothing downloaded on mobile app or outlook.live). I have the same pop accounts added to desktop as well, so I assumed this had to do with Exchange and the connected pop accounts, suspecting all the grandfathered connections I had were now a generation past.
I depend on the mobile app too much, so I as a temporary solution I decided to suspend pop send/receive in outlook desktop and forward my pop accounts to my outlook exchange address. For a bit, that seemed to resolve things, and I was getting email even with outlook desktop closed.
But NEXT day I started getting duplicate (even triplicate) emails. That's when I realized (maybe?) the pop accounts were still connected with Exchange (perhaps?). I've spent days trying to sort everything out (I have upwards of two dozen email accounts to juggle). I tried everything I could and some things I couldn't (or shouldn't), I'd do-undo-redo, repeat, drink, repeat.
I've used outlook for over a quarter century (started as a toddler), but yeah, need to move on (tried once before, but, yeah... ).
Anyone have a similar outlook occurrence?

Mine too disappeared right after I cleaned out the unnecessary connected accounts and saved the rest. The connected accounts section has been removed from the panel, including for another account of mine without any connected accounts that didn't encounter the 'Unable to load these settings' error.
It seems microsoft couldn't find a complete solution to the problem and resorted to this. I suppose it's a classic microsoft approach

If the account did not have any connected accounts at the end of May 2021, the feature was removed then. Only accounts with connected accounts on that date could continue to use them - but removing the only connected account would immediately remove the option - even if you planned on removing it and immediately adding it back.

sjrily I'm having this same issue. The Sync tab started to work but I noticed that I was not getting email for one of my 5 connected accounts. I decided to try deleting and adding back that one account. As soon as I deleted that one connected account, all of my connected accounts went away and the option to add a connected account is gone. Now I have no connected accounts!!!

The part about the option disappearing when all of the accounts are removed is how its always worked since they killed the feature. When the last account is removed, the option is gone.
But... in the past, as long as one account existed, you had the feature. Deleting 1 = delete all is new and unexpected.
One of my accounts triggers the "need to update" email - I'm not sure I want to update it. 😞
- Not I... but at least 2 users said their accounts disappeared when they got back in. Their situation sounds to be a bit different from yours though.
One asked for support to remove an account to get rid of the annoying email and they apparently removed all (not surprising to me), the other one updated passwords and deleted one account. As soon as he deleted the account, they all disappeared.- KTLutzCopper ContributorAll my connected accounts are also gone and I can't find a way to add them back to Outlook.
- guidobianchiCopper ContributorIt works for me, right now.
Thanks to everyone. - Mike-EBrass ContributorGetting an email every day now saying "It looks like we don't have permission to get email" only to follow the suggested directions to a page that ultimately says "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later." This is peak Microsoft quality. 🙄

Sync is now accessible, but it will not let me sync my new email address
Account Status:The last successful sync was on 1/26/2024 1:33:21 PM UTC.How to Fix ItIf you're using the new Mail experience in Outlook.com:• On the toolbar, select the Settings icon, then select View all Outlook settings.- Mike-EBrass Contributor
- JamesRL2410Copper ContributorNo update and having the same problem. This needs to be sorted out ASAP.
- CaneRidge14151Brass ContributorAgreed! If they were actively working the issue, it would be resolved, so my best guess is that it is still in queue or they're going to abandon the function and they just haven't said so. I hope for the former. I'm a paid Microsoft 365 subscriber, but use Outlook online for device portability...

Same problem here in Italy.
Even using new Outlook app the problem still remain. - exalnCopper ContributorI've been getting this error for more than three months. When I reach out to support, they acknowledge the situation and claim to be actively working on finding a solution. But after all this time, it does not seem convincing. I'm now starting to think that Microsoft can't fix this bug and chose to ignore it because it only affects a handful of people.
It seems to have hit many people around the end of the year - that's when it hit me and when I started seeing a lot of reports here and in the Microsoft community (answers.microsoft.com). I reported it at that time.
For those that had it earlier, did you report it to outlook.com support?
- CaneRidge14151Brass ContributorHi, Diane. Yes, I reported it to Microsoft support about four weeks ago, followed up with them just now and was informed that Tier 2 support has recently advised that this global issue is known, understood and that it is supposed to be resolved within four weeks from now and most likely much sooner. So, let's hope so! 🙂

exaln Which is fine but I also get a daily e-mail telling me I don't have permissions for a connected account that I have tried to remove - at least stop sending these too !!!!

- ______Copper ContributorHey, I haven't made comments again until now just to see if Microsoft would do the right thing, nothing! They do monitor these commuties so I think you are right! I did find a comment from them somewhere but it was the same as you have stated! Mmmm I'm starting to look at other email options now. Also, thinking of removing my account from my PC, it can be done and if more people do this...........................................................
- SoundersFanCopper Contributor+1 with my linked @comcast.net email address.
- tracy120552Copper ContributorI created a new outlook.com email account on January 10th and tried to sync it with all of my other accounts, it gives me the same error message Outlook.com Sync email - Unable to load these settings. Please try again later. Yet when I created a new outlook.com email account in December 2023 it let me sync that account. Contacted Microsoft Support and I even let them connect to my desktop computer remotely, They were unable to resolve this issue. This is very frustrating to me.

How did you try syncing it with your other accounts?
The original message in this thread refers to the Connected Account feature, which was removed from accounts not using it back in May 2021. Only people using it then can use it now but the Settings > Mail > Sync Email page (https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/mail/accounts) is not loading. Everyone else can access that page.
- PaulN_UKCopper ContributorDitto.
Looks like my sync stopped around 30th Dec, but I didn't realise and just assumed had no new e-mails (but they were all stacking up in my other accounts).
Really hope MS get this sorted soon.- PaulN_UKCopper ContributorWell what dya know! Low and behold, as if by magic...
...my sync suddenly started working!
(ok, "sarcasm" mode off now - grateful mode engaged! 😅)- CaneRidge14151Brass Contributor
PaulN_UK, nice! Mine still not working. Tried it when I saw that yours began working, thought it was going to because it took a little longer, but then same error message. -John
