Outlook.com Sync email - Unable to load these settings. Please try again later.
Mine too disappeared right after I cleaned out the unnecessary connected accounts and saved the rest. The connected accounts section has been removed from the panel, including for another account of mine without any connected accounts that didn't encounter the 'Unable to load these settings' error.
It seems microsoft couldn't find a complete solution to the problem and resorted to this. I suppose it's a classic microsoft approach ![]()

If the account did not have any connected accounts at the end of May 2021, the feature was removed then. Only accounts with connected accounts on that date could continue to use them - but removing the only connected account would immediately remove the option - even if you planned on removing it and immediately adding it back.

What you're saying does not correspond to my other account, which has never had connected accounts before. While I was encountering the 'Unable to load these settings' error on my main account, I checked multiple times on my other account, and the 'Manage connected accounts' section was usable. It remained that way until the end of last month when the error went away.
- sjrilyFeb 11, 2024Copper ContributorWho knows! I have/had 6 connected accounts, and only tried to edit one, and they all disappeared. Outlook is still pulling in from these accounts -sometimes, so idk.
diane_poremsky do you know if the connected accounts feature was in fact removed from MS 365 family accounts? The product presents as if it still has this feature, but you see all over the place it ended 2021 (even on MS sites, though it sometimes references "business" but other times not).- Feb 11, 2024Did you just edit one or delete it?

It was removed from accounts not using it. But people using it were grandfathered in as long as they have a connected account.- sjrilyFeb 11, 2024Copper Contributor
I was attempting to edit. I'd received the "can't connect/permission" email we're all familiar with for a gmail account, but couldn't do anything because of the "Unable to load" issue. When that finally resolved (for me, anyway), I attempted to update/reconnect the account. The attempt didn't work and when the screen came back, the connected accounts list was gone.
I have five other connected accounts via Outlook.com. I had them as POP accounts in Desktop too. Outlook.com stopped pulling in these accounts for the most part. Only when I opened Desktop would email the appear in Outlook.com and Outlook Android (again, for the most part). It was like Desktop was now in charge, and Outlook.com and Android only updated when it did (instead of them syncing with .com.)
I ended up disabling receive in Desktop and just had everything for my domain and gmail forwarded to my friendly outlook email. That worked - "for the most part" - then I started getting duplicates (but not always) This tells me SOMETHING was still pulling pop mail (I had email sets not to delete from server). I checked email headers for the duplicates, and sure enough, one was forwarded and one wasn't. Because Desktop "receive" was (supposedly) disabled, I'm assuming it was Outlook.com, but IDK
My confusion about connected accounts and MS 365 Family, comes from stuff like this:

Not that it really matters - I was grandfathered, so they should still be there - right?
