Outlook.com Sync email - Unable to load these settings. Please try again later.

Getting an email every day now saying "It looks like we don't have permission to get email" only to follow the suggested directions to a page that ultimately says "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later." This is peak Microsoft quality. ๐

Sync is now accessible, but it will not let me sync my new email address

How to Fix It
If you're using the new Mail experience in Outlook.com:
โข On the toolbar, select the Settings icon, then select View all Outlook settings.

I am still seeing the same error message that you are seeing. But the fact that the sync email setting is starting to become available for some people indicates that at least Microsoft is working on the problem. Hopefully the rest of us donโt have to wait too much longer for it to be fixed.

- tracy120552Jan 27, 2024Copper ContributorSo sorry that you are still seeing that message when you try to "Sync" your email addresses... I had to deal with that since December 2023, but now it is gone and everything has returned to normal... I hope that soon yours will be fixed also... But I did do an online chat with the Microsoft Tech, and also I let him connect remotely to my computer so that he could see exactly what I was talking about, so perhaps that is the reason why I was able to resolve my problem... Tracy120522, what you describe about it not syncing new set ups I guess follows the 'grandfathered' think that Microsoft announced a couple of years ago, old sync setups supported, not new ones.
- tracy120552Jan 27, 2024Copper ContributorYesterday, Friday, January 26, 2024 I was finally able to add and sync the new outlook.com email address that I created last week. It seems to be doing fine and functioning correctly. Let's see how long it lasts. Thank you everyone for your input and assistance.
