there's some kind of new update and i can't see others' video
i opened up teams this morning for an online lesson, and when i joined the first meeting, the formatting of the peoples' icons was different. on top of that, i couldn't see others' video, and i knew their cameras were on because someone else in the same call sent me a photo showing their faces. i had my camera on as well, but i could only see myself. the same problem showed itself in the second lesson. i've tried restarting the app, restarting my computer, turning incoming video off and on again; and nothing seems to work; this weird new format still shows up and i can't see others' video no matter what i do. help would very much be appreciated!
I resolved this issue for a colleague by re-installing the Teams client. I did not uninstall the existing installation. Installed over the top.

I have seen this issue many times in MTC and the above solution has done the trick so gonna put best response on it.
- sgb_og69Copper ContributorThanks Christian 🙂
- mencinasCopper ContributorI am still having this issue. I have been using the Full Screen mode as a temp work around, but it would be nice to have Teams working appropriately again. Anyone find a fix?

Hi stellamitkov
We have had success with disabling GPU hardware acceleration in the Teams settings. Right click the Teams icon in the system tray and select settings. Under General check the box next to Disable GPU hardware acceleration. Restart Teams.
Hope this helps,
Rick
- IanS34556456Copper ContributorI only see one setting under General and that is "Auto Start Teams"
- plhairegmailcomCopper ContributorThis just started happening to me in 2023. I cleared my cache, reinstalled Teams but neither worked long-term. I just got the video back by clicking the three dots at the top of screen during meeting and then choose Settings - Turn Off Incoming Video. Then go back to Settings - Turn On Incoming Video. Not sure how long this will work but this is frustrating.
- nileshmuleCopper ContributorThis worked for me as well. Thank you 😊

Hi, I am an IT manager and one of our userq has this problem. There's a work around that works for him until a fix appears out of the blue. If you go fullscreen mode in the call the participants' videoes appear.BR

- kmsatraCopper Contributorhey i am also facing the same issue if you have any solution please let me know. thanks
- pimnlCopper ContributorMany users have this problem, there is no solution from Microsoft as far as I know.
- stellamitkovCopper Contributorseems to me the only solution is to use teams in the browser until they release a bug fix 😕
- pimnlCopper ContributorAnd please report this issue on https://status.office365.com/
They might follow up one day
- ChristianBergstromSilver ContributorHow's the behavior when using Teams online? You haven't mentioned if you have also signed out manually from Teams (top right corner). Sometimes you have to do that as a restart and/or quit isn't enough.

ChristianBergstrom i have tried to sign out and sign back in again, and then to join a meeting in which others had their cameras on, but got the same result. since this problem i've been using teams in my browser, which works fine with no issues.
- ChristianBergstromSilver ContributorThat's odd. Try removing the Teams cache manually. The link describes where Teams is installed and usually the only location you need to clear is %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams (you can be selective but just wipe the entire content in that folder). You can get there by going via Start, paste and hit enter.
