Upcoming Planner release @chat feature
in the upcoming release of Planner features, it mentions that the comments will be replaced with a chat. Do I assume that the chat and @mentions are tied to who is assigned to the Task? ie. if the Task is assigned to Mary, will I be able to type Mary but I won't be able to type John (as John is not assigned the task)? Tasks chats in basic plans will allow team members to collaborate directly on tasks using rich text formatting and @mentions, making it easier to discuss work and notify teammates about what needs attention.809Views0likes11CommentsGeneral Formatting
Is it possible to have basic formatting options for the Notes and Comments on a task? Bold, underline, hyperlinks, bulleted lists, etc. Hard to add any meaningful notes or comments to a task when you are limited. This is so basic and simple it doesn't make any sense.21KViews6likes9CommentsRestricting Edit Permissions in Microsoft Planner
Hello everyone, I'm currently using Microsoft Planner for project management and collaboration within my team. However, I've encountered a challenge and would appreciate some guidance. Is there a way to configure Microsoft Planner so that only specific individuals, such as my manager, have the ability to make changes to the tasks and plans, while others can only view them? Essentially, I'm looking to prevent general team members from altering the plan, while granting full editing rights to my manager. Any tips, tricks, or insights on how to set this up would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!12KViews6likes10CommentsMicrosoft Project Service Core Jan 2026 Update locked Plans table
We recently noted the Microsoft Project Service Core was updated to 1.0.161.1772: This update has locked our Plans table, no changes are allowed to the forms and creating new columns is greyed out: We cannot make use of Planner in our model driven app (Planner Premium, non-default environment). After a new Plan is created, the user receives this message when opening the Plan: Two days ago we were in this version 1.0.160.2874): and everything was working as expected. Any guidance would be much appreciated as we are not sure if this is a permanent lock or once the update cycle is completed we will be able to go back to edit Plan forms and columns. Thank you in advance1.2KViews8likes10CommentsImproving Navigation and Custom Views in Planner
Hey everyone, I wanted to throw out a couple of ideas that could make Microsoft Planner even better! Linking My Day Tasks to the Actual Plan: Right now, when you use My Tasks > My Day, it would be awesome if the tasks were linked directly to the actual plan instead of being grayed out. Having to switch views just to see the plan context is a bit tedious, and it would be much faster if we could easily access the plan right from My Day. Saving/Pinning Views (Grid vs. Board): With the July update, the default is now Board View, but it’d be great if we could pin or save our preferred view (like Grid) as the default. I know everyone has different preferences, and being able to set and save a default view would save a lot of time clicking around. Would love to hear if anyone else feels the same way or if you've found workarounds for these issues!109Views1like1CommentNew Planner stuck in dark mode and can't change per-plan backgrounds
Was changed to the new Planner today. I can't figure out how to get it back to light mode. Used to be able to change it in the webapp, but I can't see a feature for it. Also, each plan used to have its own background. That feature seems to have disappeared as well.5.7KViews2likes22CommentsWay to see all Planner tasks assigned to a team member?
Is there a way to see all project tasks assigned to a team member? Or is this functionality on the radar? I can see all my assigned tasks, and I can see tasks by person by project, but as a manager, I would like a way to see all tasks assigned to my team members across all of their projects/functional areas, so that we can quickly evaluate their current workload, reprioritize and assign new tasks accordingly. What I'm thinking is that there would be a filter option to see buckets by team member of their collective project tasks, like the view currently available right now by individual projects. Interested in the capability to overlay multiple projects. Thanks!57KViews27likes44CommentsIssue when opening Planner via browser
Hello everyone, we are currently experiencing an issue when opening Planner via browser: every time, the sign-in screen appears and we are asked to sign in with our Microsoft account. This happens even though we open it directly via https://planner.cloud.microsoft. After we sign in, close the browser, and open Planner again, we are prompted with the sign-in screen once more. While checking the cookies, I've noticed that no authentication information was created when signing in via direct url. Using https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/ and open Planner from the Apps section, it creates authentication information in Edge / in the cookies. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is this a known / general problem?114Views0likes2Comments- 75Views1like1Comment
Planner keeps loggin out?
Hi there, Planner is asking me to login every 5 minutes or so. I'm using it on Firefox (latest update) with my Enterprise subscription. After the message pops-up I cannot add attachments from Sharepoint (need to login again). My Office session is logged on all the time. Does anyone knows how to solve this? Thanks in advance.14KViews4likes24CommentsFiltering tasks based on custom columns in Microsoft Planner?
In Microsoft Planner, I can add a custom column, and it appears in the table view. However, I do not see an option to filter tasks based on the new column. Is this a supported feature, or is there any workaround to enable filtering on custom fields?151Views3likes1CommentNew Planner Experience not showing Premium Plan (MS Project) tasks
I have the new Planner experience in Teams. In My Tasks and My Day sections I can see Planner tasks, Loop tasks, Flagged email tasks but I don't see tasks from Premium Plans a.k.a. Projects. Everything that I have read says that I should be seeing my tasks from Premium Plans here as well. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?2.2KViews0likes5CommentsGuidance on Planner Premium, Dataverse and Power Automate
Hoping this title invites you to share more knowledge around Planner Premium, Dataverse and working with Automate Scenario: I have a user inside our company saying i need access to Dataverse since he wants to automate some task creation with regards to planner premium. I am pretty ok with that, so he needs a Power Automate Premium license. Although looking at the data in the Projects data tables in the default environment their business units are the root BU - getting a little concerned. Are all projects and related data available for all people that can read the Dataverse tables? If you have some insights or experience please comment :) Could they develop that in a development or sandbox environment before piping it to a designated environment? but there are no Projects tables in dev or in sandbox environment. Main problem: there's so much information about planner and power automate that it's impossible to actually find any guidance around this scenario amongst all classic planner hits226Views0likes1CommentScheduling for public/bank holidays
Is there a way in Planner (Plan 3) where public holidays can be added to the projects calendar and can be selected under the “choose from template”. I’m wanting a plan that takes into account public holidays when scheduling the duration of the tasks.51Views0likes0CommentsCan't access portfolios solution
We have Planner and project P3. When we try to access My Portfolios from Planner in Teams we get a message that says "Looks like you don't have the latest portfolios solution installed Contact your admin to fix this" I am an admin, but I can't find any way to update portfolios to the latest version. Has anyone been able to access the portfolios feature? If so, how did you get it to work? Thanks, Doug2.9KViews9likes20CommentsCan GUESTS access t Premium Plan in Teams?
I created a Teams Team and want to manage a premium plan project therein. I have the Planner-Plan 1 license. One external supplier is a guest in my Team but he cannot see the Premium plan. Is this by design or is there any wrong setting in my system? I could not find any information on this in the Microsoft documentation. Facts The guest user is part of the team158Views1like1CommentRestore or recover deleted Plan (where O365 Group was NOT deleted)
I know that if there are Plans associated with an O365 Group and that Group is deleted, the Plans are also deleted. If the Group is restored/recovered, then the Plan(s) is(are) also restored. However, in the case of a Plan that is deleted without deleting the O365 Group, is there any way to recover that? The deletion dialog states that "You are about to permanently delete this plan and all of its tasks" but, invariably, users click right through without reading or understanding the warning.23KViews0likes7Comments
