2026.02.20 - Planner UI update is worse
The UI changes to Planner within the latest Teams desktop app update (version 26032.208.4399.5) has regressed in its functionality and is worse than before. Previously, all of the contents of an item in the Planner were visible at the same time. Now I have to tab between Task Details, Attachments and Checklist, and am unable to view these at once, which has become a critical workflow for me. It is extremely irritating, as I've developed a workflow around how Planner was presented (which was that everything within a task was visible at once), and now it has been compartmentalised.
Please unwind this - it is a regressive update and provides less information and requires more interaction to work through the detail of a task.

Also, just found out that checklist is limited to 20 items, has that always been the case? Why is there a limitation here at all?

I absolutely hate the removal of comments and replacing it with chat. Comments were permanent, and could not be deleted. This allowed me to create some sort of accountability with the tasks, as descriptions of what was discussed during the task planning process could be entered and remained there permanently. As it is, teammembers can retroactively make changes to chat history, which creates a major issue with accountability. I also agree with the points made that not having all the parts in the same pane, and having to tab around to view them. I hate the new change.

Checklist has become really bad. You cant see all text. There is space to show more, then why not show it? You need to hoover over the text to see all.

Please offer multiple task pane views! It really slows down my workflow to have to toggle between task details and the checklist. Completely unnecessary and inefficient change.

I'll use some less drastic terms in this reply so it doesn't get deleted...
This is a major step back in the usability of Microsoft Planner, requireing more clicks and present less overview, why?!I could live with it to a certain point if at least very obvious and basic functionalitiy like attaching sharepoint or onedrive files to a task would be included, but why break something that is very very basic functionality to begin with, i can't believe it.

Microsoft has really f^%4%d this one up and has made the planner tool ( which was pretty basic to begin with) absolutely a nightmare to use.

In addition, it is no longer possible to sort by name in the team board view. Colleagues are displayed at the top from left to right, but there is no discernible logic to the sorting.
Previously, they were sorted alphabetically in ascending order.
Please offer more sorting options here again!

Yes please! This change is not an improvement and requires more clicks to get the same information we could before. At least let us opt out.
