Way to see all Planner tasks assigned to a team member?
Is there a way to see all project tasks assigned to a team member? Or is this functionality on the radar? I can see all my assigned tasks, and I can see tasks by person by project, but as a manager, I would like a way to see all tasks assigned to my team members across all of their projects/functional areas, so that we can quickly evaluate their current workload, reprioritize and assign new tasks accordingly. What I'm thinking is that there would be a filter option to see buckets by team member of their collective project tasks, like the view currently available right now by individual projects. Interested in the capability to overlay multiple projects.
Thanks!

Its June 2025 and this is still need to track what my engineers are doing in one spot and not look it up per plan. I need one spot for my Resource Management, and also my Engineers use it to track how their teammates are doing to better handle collaboration. - John_P915Copper Contributor
Here is the partial solution I have found to this.
In Planner, if your team member clicks on "assigned to me" they have the option to add their "assigned to me" tasks from Planner to their calendar. They also can copy this link and share with you. In other words, the Planner tasks assigned to your team member are shared with you as an "other calendar" that you can view in your outlook calendar and toggle on and off.My issue is that when I add a new planner task, it did not update automatically. If I removed their calendar and then added their calendar (with the exact same link I had used previously), the newly added planner task showed up in addition to everything else that had been there previously.
It's the best I've got for now, if anyone knows how to "force sync" a url calendar so that way it updates without having to delete and then "re-add" the "assigned to me" calendar for my teammate.

1) I am thrilled that now within the Teams App, if you open the "Tasks by Planner and To Do" sub-App on the right side there are more features inside of Teams than inside of Planner on the web. Most fun is the "List" view with sort by priorities. It shows ALL team members tasks and breaks down the sequence in a very logical sense:
- Urgent stuff at the top, sorted by due date
- Important stuff next, sorted by due date.
- Medium stuff, sorted by due date.
2) I am getting notifications that sometime in spring 2024, Planner is morphing and becoming more cohesive, similar to the current "Project on the Web".

kendraweaver Any updates on this, Microsoft? This question was asked years ago and the functionality is so simple and so useful. I've just landed in a place that uses Microsoft Planner and this glaring omission and a lack of other relatively simple features is driving me crazy. Might have to end up paying for a different task management app...

kendraweaver: one way I found to go around this issue is to create a user (hence need admin rights) and assign each single task to him. You can then view all tasks assigned to him (i.e. all tasks in the system) using "Assigned to" in Planner and/or Teams. Hope this helps the time for Microsoft to hopefully address this issue.

Despite the fact that as of today 31 people have replied to this message and almost 30k have viewed it, I could only find 13 votes to add this feature to Planner on the Microsoft feedback portal where it counts.
If you'd like Microsoft to know you need this functionality, please use this link: Request this feature here!

- CFLSteveCopper ContributorSimilar to all the other comments, this feature is fairly vital to us using Teams to manage projects & tasks.
