SharePoint thinks a user still has a lock on. I can't adminsitratively do anything with the file online. This has been going on for almost a day. We've cleared cache, closed Excel on his computer, cleared out some local cashe directories, rebooted, etc. Nothing is clearing up this lock. All I want to do is delete the file at this point, and I can't even do that. What are my options as a Global Admin?Solved661KViews4likes96CommentsRevert to a previous version of a file in Teams files
I opened an Excel spreadsheet from the team files area in the browser, edited it and saved it back in the files area of a team channel. I made mistakes in the editing. Now, I can't just use "undo" because the file has already been saved. Is there a way to revert to the previous version of the file?435KViews1like3CommentsNew Teams - Backgrounds Folder
Recently, Microsoft released the new version of Teams for businesses, allowing the option to move end users to the new version or keep them on classic mode. However, one thing we've noticed is that the "Backgrounds" folder is no longer present in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams. Does anyone know where this folder went?Solved277KViews4likes24CommentsExternal Sharing to Non-Microsoft accounts
Is it possible to share files to people without having them create a Microsoft account yet? I'm sure I read a blog post saying there was to be an update to external sharing where people would receive a token number to enter, rather than having to create a MS account. I'm trying to open HTML files that are saved in a Document Library created on a Team site (using Office 365 Groups). When we add HTML files to the library they will only download and then open. We would like to be able to have these files open in the browser. Any ideas?177KViews0likes44CommentsForce Teams desktop client update
Hi all, I've recieved several questions about this and I'm also seeing too many topics about it here in the community. We all know about the update process for Teams as described here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-client-update and here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/update-microsoft-teams-535a8e4b-45f0-4f6c-8b3d-91bca7a51db1 for example. But sometimes you're just stuck as nothing happens when trying to clear the cache, reset the app, update and/or reinstall. This is an easy way to force an update of the desktop app (even though most updates happen backend). 1. Look for the latest version seen, one place to do it https://whatpulse.org/app/microsoft-teams 2. Copy the version number and paste it in the link below and hit enter. In my example, and at the time of writing, I'm updating to version 1.3.00.33971. https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-windows-x64/1.3.00.33971/Teams_windows_x64.exe I've been struggling with this myself some time ago knowing features being released backend but didn't show up in my desktop client. After this process the client was updated and the features appeared for me as well. Hope this will prevent some of you going mad.Solved171KViews4likes36CommentsDeleted files/folders reappear as they are synced back online from client OneDrive
We are heading towards the end of a big push to get all files in OneDrive or SharePoint. The Finance department (VIPs) are getting very frustrated with deleted files/folders reappearing as they are synced back online from other user's sycned client OneDrives (the name of the user and date/time are listed with the file online). PLEASE HELP. I am also opening a ticket. This is what we have tried: Make sure all sync clients are up to date Try renaming the folder/file and then deleting it from online SharePoint This did not work at all. Both the original and the renamed files/folders reappeared Checked SharePoint permissions. There are some unique permissions on a few documents but in general the members have edit permissions. I know it is possible to set files to open in client applications when opening up a file from a SharePoint library, but is it possible to set that as default behavior when opening a file from a shared link? I have set the site collection default to open in client application and library setting to open in client application but when I send a co worker a shareable link out of sharepoint it will only open in the web version.Solved162KViews3likes35Comments
