Word documents with SharePoint Properties won't display those Properties by default.
How do we configure Word and/or SPO to always view SharePoint Properties when opening documents from a SharePoint Document Library? This was the default behavior in SPS 2016, but in SPO, any Word document that is opened in the desktop application has to have the Properties enabled by clicking 'View' followed by the 'Properties' button (in the SharePoint section). it seems like if you use metadata in your SharePoint Document Library, you'd want to view that metadata by default, and not have to manually click through extra steps to view it after each file opening.proofing tools show extra characters and words
In a few select cases I have found that showing proofing tools ( the paragraph mark ) will also show random characters and words. And by random I mean it looks like previous revision/edits so semi- or full words but not quite sensical. Here is an example: Without proofing tools: And with proofing tools on: notice how "epsring e/g applicable of workl records of workd devices processed at ture needed to achieve conformity to product requirement" shows up. What and where does this come from and any way to prevent it?
Error with cross references in track changes when exporting to PDF
I have a document with cross-references and the track changes activated. When I export it to PDF it marks all cross references as changed, when they have not been changed. I have attached two images of an example of the error. The first one is the document before exporting it and the second one after. It can see that, despite not having made any changes, cross-references are marked. ¿Does anyone know how can I fix this issue? Thank you
Generated TOC, when using RD field code, yields every page as page 1
I have 37 separate Word documents. Word version isMicrosoft Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2405 Build 16.0.17628.20006) 64-bit. I have a separate document to generate a table of contents (TOC) using the Reference Document (RD) field code to reference my 37 other documents. This worked great until recently when I generate the TOC, all headings came in correctly and every one of them showed page 1 in the TOC. I can create a single document with all my files and generate the TOC with correct page numbers with no issue. It is using the RD to create a separate TOC file where the page numbering bug rears its ugly head. Any help is greatly appreciated.TOC RD generating page 1 instead of correct page numbers
I am using Word Version 2407 (Build 17830.20084) with Office 365 Apps for Business. For years, we have created TOCs pulling from multiple files using the TOC RD field. However, now instead of the correct page numbers, it shows 1 (or occasionally the first page number of one of the files). This first started on someone else's machine and until now, I was able to successfully generate a correct TOC for them. This is happening with multiple documents. We've tried manipulating the page number and TOC fields, safe mode, replacing normal.dotm, and repairing the Office install. Note that the TOC works just fine on an individual document (i.e., when not using RD). Any ideas?Table ends with invisible page break
I've got a very weird issue in Word in Google Chrome. I have a H1 header, followed by a table. Below that I want to add text. However, there's "nothing" after the table, instead all text is moved to the next page. If I place the cursor in the bottom row and move it to the right, it automatically jumps to the next page as well, as if there's a line break there. If I remove and re-insert a table the issue appears again. The size of the table doesn't matter. I've tried viewing the hidden markup symbols, but even then I don't see anything. Some help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Latest Build of Word Causing Layout Issues
With the latest build of Word,Version 2306 (Build 16529.20182), we are having layout issues that do not appear in previous versions, specificallyVersion 2302 (Build 16130.20644). For instance, floating images are now in a different place and pages that weren't 2 columns are now using the formatting from other pages. Is anyone else seeing this issue or knows about it?
Word Online - Rename Document Box - shows different, for different users !?!?
Within the Word-Online screen, some users see a 'down arrow' (chevron) and then a LARGE box for the file name. But - other users don't see this. WHY !?! What is the reason for these TWO different modes/functions ?? Is it based on a license ? BOTH of these are the same document - same library. After creating a NEW file. This is probably a long shot, but I’ve been losing my mind trying to figure out how to fix this. I have to use Online Word for several courses I’m taking, and whenever I’m writing a paper in it, I usually have no issues in it. However, when I come back to a previously saved document, I notice that most of my paragraphs have been displaced either up or down, or page breaks that I’ve put in have completely broken. This has actually caused me to lose points on a paper or two, and I had to explain to my instructor that this is a problem I’ve been having for awhile. I have no idea how to fix this, and I’m trying to provide my instructors with a flawless paper that doesn’t have any formatting issues. If anyone can help out, I’d appreciate it. Thanks
