Build 27802 and problems with game launcher applications
For a long time - also for the needs of insider testing of subsequent builds - I have been launching various types of games to check their operation. Unfortunately, on the latest Canary build (27802) there was a problem that occurred on the ASUS ROG Strix G553QS laptop I was testing with a Ryzen 7 5800H processor and an Nvidia GForce 3080 card (I will check tomorrow another laptop that I have), which prevents the launch of a number of games that use so-called own launchers (e.g. with displayed information content) - because these launchers do not activate. And so - in the case of Ubisoft Connect (from Ubisoft) - the launcher does not start, throwing the message "Uplay has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down. Crash dump created at (...)", although the file with the error dump does not contain any content - it is empty; - in the case of the Elder Scrolls Online game, the launcher window opens, but using the "Play" button in the launcher throws a message about the game launch process crashing, suggesting damage to the file structure (although such damage is not confirmed by the game file verification module); - in the case of the Elite Dangerous game, which also uses the launcher on Steam, after pressing the Play icon (the "Play" button for a game on Steam), the cursor wheel grinds for a moment and the "Play" message is restored - as if the launch process had been stopped. The problem does not affect several other games that start directly (without the participation of separate launchers) on Steam. As I wrote, I will verify the problem tomorrow on another laptop of mine and check on a desktop computer (although yesterday these games worked on a desktop computer). If any of you have an ASUS ROG laptop, I would like to ask you to confirm whether you are noticing similar problems. DISM.exe verification did not confirm any errors in the build structure on the tested laptop.Subtitles not available when casting device to Windows
I've looked elsewhere online & didn't find any joy so I expect this isn't possible without additional program. I'm casting an .mkv file to TV, using the native "Cast to Device" feature under the right click option. Is there a way to access the subtitles baked into the .mkv file? Playing file on desktop shows subtitles so I know they're there. There seem to be several third party programs that may do it, and cast directly from the program, but nothing from the native "Cast to Device" feature?Disable drop shadows problem
I have a program that, every time it starts, I have to click a button to disable drop shadows. I am trying to find a way of PERMANENTLY disabling DS and I have tried all the suggested fixtures such as unchecking boxes in sys.cpl\advanced\view etc and unchecked all relevant boxes but this seems to be just a temporary measure as, next time I go into my program I have to manually disable drop shadows again from there. So, is there any way to permanently disable DS ??? Thanks
Win 11 laptop won't detect headphones unless I restart
I have a Dell G15 15.6" FHD 120Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, WIN 11. Had it a few months, bought new. It used to detect my headphones when I plugged them in but now it doesn't, but if I restart the laptop it detects them with no issue. Headphones are the only thing I use for audio so usually its not an issue, unless they get pulled out accidently or when I put it away when I leave house, then when I return I have to remember to plug headphones in FIRST before I start up the laptop, which I never do. So this issue is a mild pain in my butt. Tried reinstalling drivers and made sure they are up to date from Dell site. The site has an auto-detect driver thingie that shows they are all up to date. Any ideas?The differences for these security features on Windows

Windows Cumulative Update won't install ?
2024-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5043076) It just won't install; apparently it has tried every day for a while. The error code is 0x800736b3. I am not a W11 expert by any stretch, and frankly not sure what to do. What is kind of weird is that another version(?) is available (same title, KB5043145). This home built PC originally had W10, and I upgraded years ago without any issues.How to clean reinstall Windows 11 bypassing automatic bitlocker?
My existing Windows 11 Pro on my Dell laptop seems to have automatic bitlocker encryption enabled during/after installation. Now I want to do a clean reinstall bypassing this auto bitlocker encryption. I know Rufus app has provision to create a Windows 11 USB installer that will not enable bitlocker automatically. However the question is, do I need to fiddle with TPM in anyway before that or just wiping system drive and then installing Windows 11 USB installer created using Rufus with bypassing those options enabled will be enough?How do i disable the login requirement upon starting up windows
How do i disable the login screen? i would like to start my pc and go straight into windows instead of going through the login process I have unticked the "user must enter a username and password to use this computer" and yet after restarting i still need to login.
