How to fix: "This pc doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11"
I'm trying to upgrade my old PC to Windows 11, but I'm encountering a problem. The error message says, "This PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11." Despite having upgraded the hardware over the years, including adding more RAM and storage, the issue persists. I've checked that the processor should be compatible and have enabled both Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 in the BIOS. Despite these efforts, I still can't proceed with the installation. I'm looking for advice on how to identify and fix whatever is causing this incompatibility, so I can successfully upgrade my PC to Windows 11. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've encountered a similar problem before, and it took me a long time to solve it. It sounds like your hardware meets the requirements of Windows 11, but the installation process is still stuck. This situation is sometimes not a hardware problem, but the Windows installer itself is too strict in checking the system environment.
I finally solved it with WinBootsMate. This tool is a bit niche, but it works well.

It can help you skip some of the detection steps of Windows 11 and make the installation process go smoothly.

Is it really possible to fix the "This PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11" error message through registry modification? I'm concerned about the risks of modifying the registry to the system!

Yes. You can bypass Windows 11 system requirement via editing the registry. However, it is kind of risky. If you don't worry about it, here are the steps you can check out:
Step 1: Open registry editor and navigate to this location.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows
Step 2:Right-click on the "Windows" key and select "New" > "DWORD (32-bit) Value".
Step 3: Double-click on the new value and set its value data to 1. Click "OK" to close the window."
After making this change, restart your system and try installing Windows 11. At this time, the "This PC does not meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11" error won't show up any more!

Barbara830 I am a Windows 10 user and wish to remove the "Great news—your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. Specific timing for when it will be offered can vary as we get it ready for you." banner on the Update & Security section in the settings.
Would your advice mean allowing my system to download Windows 11 updates onto my Windows 10? I hope not as I prefer my machine to continue downloading updates for Windows 10.
- MoraTaniaCopper ContributorThis error means the current computer is not officially supported by Windows 11 because of missing hardware component such as CPU, Secure Boot or TPM 2.0. You can either buy a Windows 11 compatible device or install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware with the help of third-party software or manually modifying the registry during installing. It is totally up to you!

I met this error a couple of days ago when I was trying to install Windows 11 on an old laptop that CPU is not supported by Windows 11. Fortunately, I managed to fix this error using the Win-Boot-Mate app suggested by this community member. Once I made a bootable Windows 11 with the app, the error (This PC does not meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11) is gone during the installation process. You can follow the official guide to solve this problem by your own.
- George-KrebsCopper ContributorYou've already confirmed your processor is compatible with Windows 11, so we can skip this step. However, double-check your CPU architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) to ensure it matches the requirements. And check your graphics card's specifications to see if it meets the Windows 11 requirements. If not, you might need to update or replace your graphics card.

"This PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11" is displayed on the computer. Trying reinstalling Windows 10 (if possible) or resetting your PC to its default settings using the built-in Reset option in Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might want to consider seeking assistance from Microsoft Support or a professional IT expert.
- HauzeCopper ContributorWould you want to bypass Windows 11 system requirements by editing the registry? Before proceeding, make sure you've backed up your registry and understand that this method is not officially supported by Microsoft. Also, be aware that modifying the registry can lead to unintended consequences. This method is not officially supported by Microsoft, which means you won't get any official help or support if something goes wrong.

Pimentel150 i have another problem, my pc health check say that my pc meetts windows 11 requirements but when i go to setting and windows update, it tell me that my pc doesntt currently meet the minimum requirements

reynaldor I'm having this same problem. My year-old Dell laptop came with Windows 10 (a downgrade by choice), and soon after I got it, Windows Update changed from offering me the Windows 11 Update to showing the message about not meeting the minimum system requirements, which was clearly wrong. I just ran the PC Health Check, and it confirms this, saying "This PC meets Windows 11 requirements." Have you found a solution?

reynaldor if PC Health Check passes, but Windows Update shows that message, you need to run the "Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" task manually
Task takes a few minutes, keep refreshing until status goes from Running to Ready. Then go back to Windows Update and check for updates again.
- DanotchCopper ContributorHi,
It sounds like you've done a lot already! Here are a few steps to try:
PC Health Check Tool: Run this to see the exact compatibility issue.
Double-Check TPM and Secure Boot: Ensure both are properly enabled in BIOS and verify TPM in Windows Security > Device Security.
Check CPU Compatibility: Verify your processor is on the official Windows 11 supported list.
Workaround: If all else fails, you can bypass the requirements using Microsoft's documented registry tweak, though it comes with some risk.
Hope this helps!
