We just got a new Spectrum router in NW Lower Michigan. After we connected we found that the time on our PC is wrong and it said the time changed because our location changed. I went to Settings - Location and checked that the Default Location is correct. Because the time is wrong on my PC it causes quite a few problems. I also went to Google Maps and found that the defualt location had changed to Milwaukee, WI which is in a different time zone. I updated the default location there to be my Home location here in NW Lower Michigan and that cured the default location in Google Maps but did not affect the location being used on my Windows 11 (updated) desktop PC to automatically set the time. How can I fix this issue? Thanks!

Roblox won’t install on Windows 11 (installer + Microsoft Store both fail)

Hi, I’m trying to install Roblox on Windows 11 but it always fails with the error:

“Continue without installation flags”

The installer runs for about 1 minute, then shows that message and stops. This happens every time.

I also tried installing via Microsoft Store, but that fails as well.

I basically tried everything but sadly nothing works. Has anyone fixed this exact error or knows what causes it?

Clonezilla PXE deployment fails because disk name changes (sda vs nvme) – how to fix?

I’m trying to use Clonezilla to mass deploy a Windows image to multiple PCs over the network.

Here’s what I did:

Created an image using Clonezilla from a Windows machine (via USB)

Set up Clonezilla Server (DRBL) for network/PXE deployment

Goal: restore this image to multiple client PCs (disk-to-disk deployment)

The problem:

During the setup on the Clonezilla server, it asks me to select a destination disk (e.g. sda).
But this seems to be based on the server machine, not the client machines.

When clients boot over PXE and try to restore the image, the process fails because:

The disk name on the client is different (e.g. nvme0n1 instead of sda)

Clonezilla expects the exact disk name defined earlier

There’s no option on the client side to select or override the target disk

What I expected:

I expected Clonezilla to:

Either ignore the disk name and restore to the primary disk automatically

Or let the client choose the destination disk during deployment

How can I repair a corrupted powerpoint file?

Hi everyone,

Recently came across a frustrating issue with a PowerPoint file that suddenly won't open. It either throws an error or just fails to load properly. The file isn’t that old, so not sure what caused the corruption—maybe a crash or improper save.

Tried opening it with Microsoft PowerPoint in safe mode and also attempted the "Open and Repair" option, but no luck so far. Also wondering if renaming the file or extracting content (like from a .pptx zip) is still a viable trick these days.

Curious if anyone here has had success repairing a corrupted powerpoint file. Any tools, methods, or workarounds that actually worked would be great to hear.

Forgot iPhone passcode. How can I unlock iPhone without reset

Hello,

Ran into a bit of a headache as I forgot my iPhone passcode after changing it yesterday. The device isn't disabled yet, but there is no way to remember the passcode, and trying random guesses doesn't seem like a good idea.

Been looking around and most solutions point to using iTunes or Finder to restore the device, which obviously wipes everything. That's what I'm trying to avoid if possible, since there are some important files on it that aren't backed up.

Is there actually any legit way to unlock an iPhone without resetting it if I forgot iPhone passcode? Or is a full restore basically unavoidable in this situation? Any insight or real-world experience would be appreciated.

Whenever I open a folder by double-clicking it, the cursor spins for 3–4 seconds before the folder opens. I’ve tried the common solutions found online, but none of them worked. The problem went away after I changed the “Open each folder in a separate window” setting in Folder Options, but I’m not used to this behavior. The issue appeared suddenly; I hadn’t installed any new software or updated the system at the time, and my hardware configuration and hard drive status are both normal. I’m looking for a solution.

I'm not sure if this is a compatibility issue between the touchpad and the operating system, so I'd appreciate some advice from anyone with experience.

how do i copy text from images in windows 11?

I have some images with text in them and I need to copy that text out, but I can't select it the normal way since it's embedded in the image. Typing it out manually isn't really an option when there's a lot of it.

I'm on Windows 11 and I'm wondering what the best way to handle this is. I've heard the Snipping Tool has some kind of text extraction feature now, and I also saw PowerToys mentioned somewhere. Not sure which one actually works well in practice or if there's something even simpler I'm missing.

A few things I'd like to know:

Does Windows 11 have a built-in way to copy text from images without downloading anything extra?

Is the Snipping Tool's text feature reliable, or does it miss a lot?

Would PowerToys Text Extractor be better for this?

Are there any free tools worth trying if the built-in options don't cut it?

The images are mostly screenshots and scanned documents with printed text, nothing handwritten. Privacy matters a bit too, so I'd prefer something that doesn't upload my files to a random server if possible.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Various BSODs during boot

Hi, recently I started getting BSODs when booting my Lenovo laptop. I've been getting these 3 error codes: 0x3D, 0xA and 0x7F. Is it possible to pinpoint the exact cause with this information, or should I look for some other information, such as logs, other error codes?

It's hard to get the laptop to boot properly, but when I managed to do so, I ran msdched.exe but it didn't find any issues. I also tried reinstalling Windows, didn't help either.

PC info:
Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9
R5 7235HS
24GB RAM DDR5 4800MHz
RTX3050 6GB

Importing tracks I record in a project with the same settings and BPM don't line up

I have an Ableton project that has several guitar, bass and vocal tracks and a drum track with EZDrummer on it.

I needed to record some additional guitar parts and in the main project I was getting too much latency for it to work.

I saved a mp3 of the track and opened a new Ableton project with the same settings and loaded the mp3 and recorded the parts.

Same BPM in both.

When I try to import the tracks back to the main project they are not synced. The BPM seems fine, there isn't drift as far as I can tell, but they start slightly off beat.

The tracks were set to start at the beginning of the track with no delay.

When I import the tracks they line up with themselves, but not with the tracks in the project.

If I import the mp3 from the guitar project it doesn't line up either, if I just load it now it also doesn't line up either, but it did before as I had loaded it to make sure it worked, but now the one that I load directly onto track is out of beat with the one that I had imported directly onto track a few days ago.

I don’t have warp on and am baffled as to what is going on.

Need PC pricing advice

Hi, I am looking to sell my pc as I am moving abroad, I bought it 2 years ago, but the components are still good and runs good. Never overclocked it, been on UPS since day 1.

I think $2500AUD ~$1700USD is fair. I originally bought it for $3800AUD. Advise on the pricing would be much appreciated thanks.

the no internet is visible in the bottom right and in windows settings, also mcsf connect test fails every time

I wouldnt really mind if this was just a visual glitch but I can't download any windows updates or even log into websites like spotify because of this. It started happening out of nowhere after I reset my windows and yes I tried reinstalling drivers and resetting my network.

Windows freezes when I first open or click on anything after startup

I have a laptop with Windows 11 on it. Haven't had any issues for a while, but in the last couple of months it will freeze sometimes. I boot up the laptop and log in to Windows. When I go to open an app or click anything really, the screen will sometimes freeze or go black. I have the spinning circle cursor sometimes but I am unable to do anything. I let it sit for a while and nothing changed. I reboot and sometimes have to go through a few reboots before it no longer freezes.

I double-checked and Windows is up to date. I didn't install anything new shortly before the issue started happening. I tried doing a repair and got a message that it ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired.

Anyone else have this issue and/or suggestions on what I should check?

Thinkstation P310 SFF operating system missing after KB5083769 update

I was wondering if anybody had the same problem after installing. The computer has a Western Digital NVme drive.

After restarting the computer the system would post with the message:

Error 1962: No operating system found. Boot sequence will automatically repeat.

I accessed the bios and disabled the secure boot and reset the certificate, saved the settings, restarted, windows update finished and was able to get to the desktop.

Are there any other instances happening out there? Or, is this a common thing happening?
