Hello, I have gone into Intune and created a new config profile and have set Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Printer Redirection \ Device and resource redirection to let the users map drives and printers that are on their laptop into Windows 365 Desktop. However, how can we set it so that: 1. The only printers that are mapped to the 365 desktops from the client's device is the clients default printer and not any network printers that are installed on the laptop. 2. The only drives it maps into 365Desktop are the clients local drives like their SSD drive, and usb drives pluged in and not any network drives that are on the laptop.130Views0likes1CommentRe: Copilot for Microsoft 365 is not working on Terminalserver RDS
You are correct. office 365 shared activation in terminal servers\Citrix\RDS ect is user-based license. It does not fall under Andreys and others quote about device license. People are confused about 0365 device based and shared activation. Additionally, I just have confirmed with another company who uses server 2022 shared desktops with Office in shared activation mode deployed with the ODT and it works. Maybee this is a 2019 thing (doubtful)? I don't have a 2022 server to stand up and test. I have read another post where someone was having the same issue with existing profiles. Newly created profiles on the same server would show copilot. Have you tried 2022 server or fresh profiles in 2019?196Views0likes1CommentRe: Copilot for Microsoft 365 is not working on Terminalserver RDS
Device-based licensing for Microsoft 365 Apps is not Shared activation. These are two different models. Device based. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/licensing-activation/device-based-licensing Shared Activation. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/licensing-activation/overview-shared-computer-activation There is no wording that says shared activation is not supported. In fact Microsoft support (be it level 1) has stated that shared activation is supported with coPilot. Edit1: This is there response "Copilot for Microsoft 365 is a user-based license and requires that Microsoft 365 Apps on Windows desktop are deployed using a user-based license . Shared Computer Activation](https://learn.microsoft.com/deployoffice/overview-shared-computer-activation ) is supported. May I know if every user signing to the shared computer has prerequisites license and copilot license? " Edit 2: I have confirmed that "Microsoft 365 apps with shared computer activation is user-based licensing"197Views0likes0CommentsRe: Copilot for Microsoft 365 is not working on Terminalserver RDS
This is not correct. RDS does not automatically equal device-based Office license. Device based. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/licensing-activation/device-based-licensing Shared Activation. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/licensing-activation/overview-shared-computer-activation RDS\Citrix requires shared activation. Microsoft 365 apps with shared computer activation is user-based licensing. Here is a reddit for more understanding. https://www.reddit.com/r/Office365/comments/ghs3x6/shared_computer_activation_vs_device_based/1.3KViews0likes0CommentsMDE for shared desktops Citrix, RDSH ect
Hello, Are there any instructions\tips to enroll a windows 2019 server into MDE that acts as a shared desktop for multiple users. i.e., servers that have more then two people logging into them via RDP or Citrix at the same time that have their own profile\desktops using Fslogix. (persistent desktops) What licensee should we purchase (server or cloud) and how do you address the 5-device limitation with the MDE user-based enrolment? For example, one user could log in and bounce around a group of 10 servers in our environment over the course of a couple days. Additionally is it still true that you can't enroll a 2019 server into Intune which means they don't get enrolled into MDE automatically. (if you have that option set). If that's the case, you still need to use the enrolment script for servers from the MDE portal? I see plenty of articles for VDI and non-persistent desktops that do not apply but nothing for this example. Any other tips? Thanks!1.9KViews0likes1CommentRe: Migrating computers that had GPOs that disabled Defender Firewall and Antivirus.
rahuljindal It doesn't appear that the policies are working even though I can see them applied. For example defender endpoint says firewall is enabled on domain\private\public with no exceptions and I still can ping the machine in question. Thinks like that. Is there a command prompt to force a client to check in with Defender endpoint? I already tried to sync the client in the intune interface. Also, I may be a little confused on where to enroll these devices. I thought the place to manage windows defender would be Microsoft Endpoint Manager. However, after reading this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/mde-security-integration?view=o365-worldwide It appears that maybe I shouldnt be using MDE. "With this capability, devices that aren’t managed by a Microsoft Endpoint Manager service can receive security configurations for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint directly from Endpoint Manager." My devices are enrolled in MEM and can be managed by MEM. "When a device is managed by Endpoint Manager (enrolled to Intune) the device won't process policies for Security Management for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Instead, use Intune to deploy policy for Defender for Endpoint to your devices."1.9KViews0likes1CommentMigrating computers that had GPOs that disabled Defender Firewall and Antivirus.
Hello all, I'm having trouble getting Windows machines that are joined to the local domain\ hybrid joined to azure and enrolled in Intune\MDE to take polices from Windows Defender for Endpoint. These machines in the past had a domain GPO that applied to them to disable the defender firewall and antivirus. On the GPO that still applies to them (it has other settings we want to keep) the defender and firewall settings are now set to "not configured" I then went into the registry on the PC and deleted the policies that disabled the firewall and antivirus from the domain gpo. I would now expect for Intune\MDM to take control of the firewall and push the policy. Is there anything else I would need to do? Hello, When you install the teams MSI with the ALLUSER=1 switch for RDSH, VDI, ect the teams program no longer respects any settings in the JSON file. Has anyone found a way to configure teams? The GPO that is out there will not work as it is only for office PRO plus and 365 installed versions of teams. Thanks876Views0likes0CommentsRe: Channel hidden by default. How to change?
adam deltinger IM sorry, i dont understand. The org team only has two channels in it so far. The second channel is hidden for the test user. The "Automatically show this channel in everyones channel list" is already checked. Is there another check box somewhere else?54KViews0likes0CommentsChannel hidden by default. How to change?
Hello, when I create channels in a Team or a org team (Im the admin) The default way a user sees these are hidden. Even sometimes when the open the team it still wont unhide until they pin it. As a admin how can i force a new channel in a team to be always shown? I choose "automatically show this channel in everyones list, and while it is technically there, its hidden which we do not want. vygadeka Same question. Update? The extra download step is confusing users and unnecessary taking up space on our storage and cloud. Auto downloading files gets us closer. What we really want is a way to click on an online PDF link For example https://www.irs.gov/forms-instructions Click on form 1040 and have it open in Adobe reader, acrobat, etc. Anything but Edge. Why do we have to download the PDF first and then change the default in teh download toolbar to automatically open it in System viewer or Adobe? Why not just open the link from the website in our choice that is not Edge. If you have to download it then like the others said auto download it to a temp folder and then we can use the always open pic you posted.34KViews2likes21Comments
