How to modify the default Microsoft search verticals in SharePoint

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I am trying to modify the default\OOTB Microsoft Search search verticals for a SharePoint online site.

According to the documentation found here, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftSearch/manage-verticals#default-verticals, I should be able to rename, disable and\or add a query to a default\OOTB search vertical but I am not able to see an edit\disable option when I select a vertical.

According to the documentation here, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftsearch/manage-verticals#create-or-modify-search-verticals, I should also be able to modify the filters for an default\OOTB search vertical. "Filters can also be added to out of box and custom verticals at the organization and site level." but as above I am unable to see a way to achieve this as there is no edit option when I select a default\OOTB search vertical.

Is there a permission or setting that needs to be enabled to achieve this?

Thanks in advance

Pete

Problem solved.

I have figured out that you need to double click on the name of the search vertical then it pops up with a panel where you can click edit.

There is no visual indicator that this is what you need to do though and I would suggest there is some UI improvement that could be made there. Even something simple to indicate that it is clickable even.
