Defender DevOps Security ADO connector missing org

Copper Contributor

I am evaluating the DevOps Security (preview) in Defender for Cloud and having an issue creating a connection to Azure DevOps organization.

On step 3 of the wizard I am authorizing to ADO but the drop-down for org remains empty. I am performing the authorization in the portal with the same account used to create the ADO org. The org is in the same region as the connector (Central US).

If I try to advance to the next step in the wizard, there is an error: “You are not a 'Project Collection Admin' of one or more of the selected Azure DevOps organization(s).”

This is not a true statement. I would appreciate some suggestions or to get this looked at if it is bug during preview.

EI@petni330 , the Azure DevOps Org and Microsoft Defender for DevOps instance must belong to the same Tenant.

Was happening to me. So at the end, for testing purposes i created a new Tenant, then linked AzDO org with that tenant, and after this, i was able to select the ORG from Microsoft Defender for DevOps.

@petni330 This sounds like tenant profile issue. You do need to auth ADO with an account in the same tenant. Did you check for the note copied below in the ADO Onboard documentation (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/defender-for-cloud/quickstart-onboard-devops) also, the FAQ (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/defender-for-cloud/quickstart-onboard-devops#why-is-my-organ...) and TSG (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/defender-for-cloud/troubleshooting-guide#troubleshoot-azure-...). If so, and are still running into issues, I'd recommend to create an incident ticket to troubleshoot further.
