Custom IP address ranges in Defender for Cloud Apps

Brass Contributor

Is there any reason that the IP Address Ranges screen in for settings Cloud Apps won't allow a /29 range?  It only allows /8, /16, /24, and /32.  What's the rationale?

@SKadish - I'm also seeing the same in multiple M365 Tenants. Attempted to add a /23 which shows "IP address is not valid". Last time I was able to do this was via the classic defender for cloud apps GUI but since the re-direct this portal is unavailable.

I opened a ticket about this, and support confirmed the behavior. It seems like it will need to be re-engineered, so let's hope that doesn't take too long.
Do you have any update on this ?
Not really. I had a support case open, but was told that this was the expected behavior, because they expect people to use this feature for internal IP blocks. It may change, but no idea if or when.
It will start working properly after 20th February, let's wait for update!
