if you are going to manage Distribution group using local AD and AD connect

Can Local contacts be added to Local AD distribution  group if contact SMTP property is identical to an existing user's SMTP property in the cloud?

As the contact will need to be in scope of the sync process in order for it to appear as member of the DG, doing this will result in a "duplicate attribute" error.
