There is no need for the URL bar to be nearly the entire width of the window, save the navigation and extension icons. I propose the ability to move the favorites bar up alongside of it. Not by default, but just to have that option. Really, once you are at a website how often do you tinker with the URL? It would be nice if it dynamically shrunk to the base of the address, [https://website.com], perhaps expanding if you hovered over it and wanted to go somewhere else or alter a portion of it. Moving the favorites up on the same level would save some vertical space.
