outlook 2010 and cache mode

Copper Contributor

Hello,

since last friday, a lot of our outlook 2010 (standard edition) can't send mail.

There is a small message in right bottom which says outlook is disconnected, then reconnected and again reconnected.

This problem is not related to internet connexion because we have differents sites with differents internet connexion/providers. We have even tested with 3G/4G modem.

If we recreate outlook profile with mode cache, the problem occur again.

We have checked there is sufficient available space on hard drive.

If we disable cache mode, the problem is gone.

We are going to take a PC and make a full Windows Update, but is anyone having a clue about something for this problem ?

Thanks.

You're connecting to Exchange Online - right?

If so, you are better off connecting with Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016. As Microsoft notes in their system requirements: "Previous versions of Office, such as Office 2010Office 2007, and Office for Mac 2011 may work with Office 365 with reduced functionality."

There's also the slight problem that Exchange Online will soon (Oct 31) switch over to MAPI over HTTP entirely and drop RPC over HTTP (https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/3201590/rpc-over-http-deprecated-in-office-365-on-october-3...). To have any chance of retaining connections, you have to make sure that you run the latest patches for Office 2010.

I'd upgrade...
