Has anyone migrated from one Google Workspace to another after a company merger?

We recently assisted with a similar Google Workspace consolidation after a company merger. The biggest lesson was to spend time planning before starting the migration. Verify user accounts, storage requirements, domain settings, and decide whether you'll migrate everyone at once or in phases.

For the actual migration, using a dedicated migration tool makes the process much easier, especially when you need to preserve mailbox folders, contacts, calendars, and other mailbox data. That means if new emails arrive after the initial migration, you can rerun the job to migrate only the changes instead of starting over.
