Office 365
20402 TopicsSynchronization issue in New Outlook for Mac – ״Failed to refresh subscriptions.״
Hello, I am using Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) on Mac, running macOS 26.1 (Tahoe). My Outlook client is: Outlook for Mac Version 16.103.3 (25113013), with a Microsoft 365 Subscription license. Since yesterday morning, in the New Outlook interface, my inbox has suddenly appeared empty, and I constantly receive the following error message: “Failed to refresh subscriptions.” It’s important to note: In Legacy Outlook, everything works perfectly. The web version and the Outlook app on my mobile phone also work well. The issue persists regardless of the network I am on (home, office, cellular, etc.). Troubleshooting steps I already tried: • Updating Outlook to the latest version • Removing and re‑adding the account • Clearing cache and preferences • Formatting my Mac and reinstalling everything from scratch Unfortunately, none of these steps has resolved the issue. Is this a known bug, and is there a recommended workaround or an upcoming fix? Appreciate assistance on that issue.126Views0likes4CommentsHow to disable Excel function triggered by a leading hyphen
I frequently need to place data into excel cells that have leading hyphen. An example would be copy and paste a list my animals - a dog - a cat from a word document into excel. Doing this however generates a formula for the third cell that I do not want. Can I switch off this feature. To me it is an irksome problem.Solved40KViews0likes7CommentsNeed to Purge DiscoveryHolds Data from Archive Mailbox in Exchange Online
Hello Team, I am working on an Exchange Online mailbox where the archive mailbox has accumulated a large amount of data (over 335 GB) under the Recoverable Items → DiscoveryHolds folder. The mailbox is not on Litigation Hold or Retention Hold, and the InPlaceHolds property shows exclusions (-mbx...), so there are no active holds preventing deletion. Environment Details Service: Exchange Online Mailbox: email address removed for privacy reasons Archive mailbox size: ~335 GB DiscoveryHolds subfolders contain the bulk of the data. Background : Initially, the user’s primary mailbox was full because more than 100 GB of data resided in the Recoverable Items folder of the primary mailbox. Since I was unable to delete the data, so as a workaround, I enabled the archive mailbox and moved the data there. I have raised multiple tickets with Microsoft, but after more than 45 days, I still do not have a proper resolution. I tried using Search-Mailbox , but received: The term 'Search-Mailbox' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet... I understand that Search-Mailbox is deprecated in Exchange Online. Also, the Content search is not very helpful.26Views0likes2CommentsNeed help with conditional fomatting formula based in text on cells

We got a requirement for to enable application Crestron to be able to access Workspace resourcetype Room mailboxes only. So, we thought of directly tieing the application to these mailboxes over the usual way of assigning it to a group because we had to create a group just for to maintain this delegation. Below are the steps we performed: #Create management scope Connect-ExchangeOnline New-ManagementScope -Name "Workspace Mailboxes" ` -RecipientRestrictionFilter "((RecipientTypeDetails -eq 'RoomMailbox') -and (ResourceType -eq 'Workspace'))" #Assign the management scope to Roles New-ManagementRoleAssignment ` -App "<AppID>" ` -Role "Application Calendars.ReadWrite" ` -CustomResourceScope "Workspace Mailboxes" ` -Name "MyApp-WorkspaceOnly" New-ManagementRoleAssignment ` -App "<AppID>" ` -Role "Application MailboxSettings.Read" ` -CustomResourceScope "Workspace Mailboxes" ` -Name "MyApp-WorkspaceOnly-Settings" #Verified the assignment via: Get-ManagementRoleAssignment -App "<AppID>" | ft Name, Role, CustomResourceScope Name Role CustomResourceScope ---- ---- ------------------- MyApp-WorkspaceOnly Application Calendars.ReadWrite Workspace Mailboxes MyApp-WorkspaceOnly-Settings Application MailboxSettings.Read Workspace Mailboxes Tested the scope of the assignment with a non-workspace mailbox and a workspace mailbox, the scope resulted false for non-workspace mailbox and true for a workspace mailbox. Later, admin consented for API permissions Calendars.ReadWrite, Mailboxsettings.Read & User.Read.All and generated an application secret with validity of 180 days to the application team and shared the secret key. ISSUE: When application team tested the access from Crestron application for a workspace mailbox it is resulting in Authentication Failed. This is the actual issue. In order to test whether this is happening because of scope , performed the below steps: $TenantId = "<TenantID>" $AppId = "<AppID>" $ClientSecret = "<ClientSecret>" $Body = @{ grant_type = "client_credentials" client_id = $AppId client_secret = $ClientSecret scope = "https://graph.microsoft.com/.default" } $TokenRequest = Invoke-RestMethod -Uri "https://login.microsoftonline.com/$TenantId/oauth2/v2.0/token" ` -Method POST -Body $Body $AccessToken = $TokenRequest.access_token $WorkspaceMailbox = "<email address removed for privacy reasons>" Invoke-RestMethod ` -Uri "https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/$WorkspaceMailbox/events" ` -Headers @{Authorization = "Bearer $AccessToken"} The expected results for this test was to receive Workspace mailbox → Returns events. Non-Workspace mailbox → Should return 403 Forbidden. However, it resulted events in both the cases, when dug further I realised that Graph API will override the management scopes created at Exchange level, so need guidance on how we can take this further.151Views0likes6CommentsWord: Performance and functionality concerns
Hi! Is this happening to you, too? I work on a team that has incorporated co-authoring in a way that it has become an instrumental part of our workflow and processes. We are the only team in our organization to have significant issues with Word: Comments are ghost multiplying (from under 50 to over 4,000) Mark-up is inconsistently available Changes are not always saving for various contributors Formatting, especially custom table styles, are auto-reformatting to something illegiable Important documents are slow to load, if they do Real-time editing is, on occasion, impossible . . . and more. I researched and found some insights. I can't find anything "out there" that would suggest others are experiencing these types of roadblocks. Are you? I am sorry if you are, but I'd be happy to know we're not alone. Do you have any tips or things you've done to improve your experience? Some context: We actively and regularly contribute to documents asynchronously (large and small), apply custom branding styles, comment (and @ team members in comments), share links in team chats, channels, and provide access to others through Outlook links. The majority of the team uses PC, but likely accesses and edits files through chats, channels, emails, Teams, Online, and OneDrive. We also have one Mac, which handles the heavy load for branding and formatting as well. I appreciate any perspectives! Thank you.31Views0likes1CommentFresh Win11 install, fresh Office365 install, Onedrive backup no connection to OneDrive-service
Hi community, got a new laptop with win11. fresh installation, Installed Office 365 (family license) as first package. No firewall/Antivirus other backup software installed. Onedrive says it´s connected. But if I start to select folders (documents/pictures) to automatically backup, the feedback is "Problem with connecting to the onedrive-service" File length or file names can´t be the issue, same error if folders are empty (fresh installation) No matter if I´m connected through my router (LAN/WLAN), hotspot on my mobile phone, neighbour´s network. Tried all resetting options Microsoft and web search is giving. No other result. Can anyone help me? trying to reach the support leads to "this support is currently not available"32Views0likes1CommentExcel not able to write to Documents Folder
Hello, I was asked to help a family member who was having trouble writing files with Excel, and I have to admit their problem has me totally flummoxed; so, I was hoping for some help myself. When they open any Excel file, it says it is Read Only. Looking at document info confirms this, but we can't turn it off. Trying a Save As on the file generates a 0-byte file in the Documents folder and we then get a message that the file already exists, and we can't overwrite it. I set up a new folder and added it to their Documents library. This works perfectly with Excel being able to Read/Write any file in there. I thought it might be user permissions in Documents, but Word and Notepad can Read/Write in there without issue. The permission settings look good, and the problem is limited to Excel. The problem started when they downloaded a CSV file, so the first thought was it was a virus. They sent me a copy of the file which I checked in an isolated VM environment, and it appeared OK. Both of us ran virus scans that came out clean. Key differences between our environments are: that they are using Microsoft 365 and Norton antivirus, and I'm using Office 2016 and Avast antivirus. But both can out of scans clean. They have done a full reinstall of Microsoft 365 but the problem with Excel persists. If worse comes to worst, then there might be a full PC rebuild (ouch), or migrate everything to the new folder I set up and delete the old Documents folder. Ideally, I would like to remedy the cause of this issue which is why I'm asking for help.80Views0likes2Comments
