Re: How to manage session/cookies for custom application integrated in Teams Desktop application ?
To configure a policy to leverage device management via client certificates: In Cloud App Security, in the menu bar, click the settings cog settings icon and select Settings. Select the Device identification tab. Upload as many root or intermediate certificates as you require. Tip To test how this works, you can use our sample root CA and client certificate, as follows: Download the sample root CA and client certificate. Upload the root CA to Cloud App Security. Install the client certificate (password=Microsoft) onto the relevant devices. After the certificates are uploaded, you can create access and session policies based on Device tag and Valid client certificate.6.2KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Sending files from Teams to a customer using outlook for web

By default, all meetings will be set to 'Gallery' layout which should display participants in 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 grids, thus showing up to 9 attendees on the same screen. If you have connected to more than 9 participants in a meeting, then Teams will let you change the layout of a meeting screen to “Large Gallery” view.16KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Users Unable to Initiate Teams Exploratory Licenses via Teams.microsoft.com
A user who is assigned a license that includes Teams isn't eligible for the Teams Exploratory experience. When the Teams service plan is turned on, the user can sign in and use Teams. If the service plan is disabled, the user can't sign in and the Teams Exploratory experience isn't available. You must have admin privileges. To turn off access to Teams: In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Users > Active users. Select the box next to the name of the user. On the right, in the Product licenses row, choose Edit. Azure AD Premium P2 license is assigned on per user basis. If only 100 users wants to use the premium features, license needs to be assigned to only those 100 users and not to all 200 users. For guest users, you need to maintain 5:1 which means, if guest users want to use Premium P2 features, you don't need to assign 5 licenses to 5 guest users. You just need to assign 1 license to any of those 5 guest users. If 10 guest users want to use Premium feature, assign license to only 2 guest users out of those 10 users, in order to stay compliant.6.2KViews1like0CommentsRe: Restrict Global Admin MFA Methods
There are relatively few administrative tasks, such as assigning roles to user accounts, that require global administrator privileges. Therefore, instead of using everyday user accounts that have been assigned the global admin role, do these steps: Determine the set of user accounts that have been assigned the global admin role. You can do this with the following Azure Active (Azure AD) Directory PowerShell for Graph command: PowerShell Copy Get-AzureADDirectoryRole | where { $_.DisplayName -eq "Company Administrator" } | Get-AzureADDirectoryRoleMember | Ft DisplayName Sign into your Microsoft 365 subscription with a user account that has been assigned the global admin role. Create up to a maximum of four dedicated global administrator user accounts. Use strong passwords at least 12 characters long. See Create a strong password for more information. Store the passwords for the new accounts in a secure location. Assign the global admin role to each of the new dedicated global administrator user accounts. Sign out of Microsoft 365. Sign in with one of the new dedicated global administrator user accounts. For each existing user account that had been assigned the global admin role from step 1: Remove the global admin role. Assign admin roles to the account that are appropriate to that user's job function and responsibility. For more information about various admin roles in Microsoft 365, see About admin roles. It did work for AuditLogs but not for SigninLogs. I tried with various time rages as well. The funny thing is that I do see logs under 'Sign-ins' in the 'Monitor' blade of Azure AD. But somehow these logs don't show up in my log analytics.15KViews0likes1CommentRe: Microsoft IPs in audit logs
Run an audit log search Go to https://protection.office.com. Tip Use a private browsing session (not a regular session) to access the Security & Compliance Center because this will prevent the credential that you are currently logged on with from being used. To open an InPrivate Browsing session in Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, just press CTRL+SHIFT+P. To open a private browsing session in Google Chrome (called an incognito window), press CTRL+SHIFT+N. Sign in using your work or school account. In the left pane of the Security & Compliance Center, click Search, and then click Audit log search. The Audit log search page is displayed. Configure criteria and then click Search to run report Note You have to first turn on audit logging before you can run an audit log search. If the Start recording user and admin activity link is displayed, click it to turn on auditing. If you don't see this link, auditing has already been turned on for your organization. Configure the following search criteria: Activities: Click the drop-down list to display the activities that you can search for. User and admin activities are organized into groups of related activities. You can select specific activities or you can click the activity group name to select all activities in the group. You can also click a selected activity to clear the selection. After you run the search, only the audit log entries for the selected activities are displayed. Selecting Show results for all activities displays results for all activities performed by the selected user or group of users. Over 100 user and admin activities are logged in the audit log. Click the Audited activities tab at the topic of this article to see the descriptions of every activity in each of the different services. Start date and End date: The last seven days are selected by default. Select a date and time range to display the events that occurred within that period. The date and time are presented in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) format. The maximum date range that you can specify is 90 days. An error is displayed if the selected date range is greater than 90 days. Tip If you're using the maximum date range of 90 days, select the current time for the Start date. Otherwise, you'll receive an error saying that the start date is earlier than the end date. If you've turned on auditing within the last 90 days, the maximum date range can't start before the date that auditing was turned on. Users: Click in this box and then select one or more users to display search results for. The audit log entries for the selected activity performed by the users you select in this box are displayed in the list of results. Leave this box blank to return entries for all users (and service accounts) in your organization. File, folder, or site: Type some or all of a file or folder name to search for activity related to the file of folder that contains the specified keyword. You can also specify a URL of a file or folder. If you use a URL, be sure the type the full URL path or if you type a portion of the URL, don't include any special characters or spaces. Leave this box blank to return entries for all files and folders in your organization. Tip If you're looking for all activities related to a site, add the wildcard symbol (*) after the URL to return all entries for that site; for example, "https://contoso-my.sharepoint.com/personal*". If you're looking for all activities related to a file, add the wildcard symbol (*) before the file name to return all entries for that file; for example, "*Customer_Profitability_Sample.csv". Click Search to run the search using your search criteria. The search results are loaded, and after a few moments they are displayed under Results. When the search is finished, the number of results found is displayed. A maximum of 5,000 events will be displayed in the Results pane in increments of 150 events. If more than 5,000 events meet the search criteria, the most recent 5,000 events are displayed.12KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Announcing the Open/Save as/Save and Delete prompts for downloads!

Using the IFEEROR, INDEX and MATCH Formula We want to get a product description in the cell F3, from the lookup table H3:I9, based on the Product ID 103 in the cell C3. If Product ID 103 is not found in the lookup table, we want to return “Description missing” in F3. The formula looks like: =IFERROR(INDEX($H$3:$I$9, MATCH(C3, $H$3:$H$9, 0), 2), “Description missing”) The lookup_value parameter of the MATCH function is C3. The lookup_array is $H$3:$H$9, while the match_type is 0, as we want the exact match. The result of the MATCH function is the row_num parameter of the INDEX function. The array the range $H$3:$I$9. Finally, the value parameter of the IFERROR function is the result of the INDEX function, while the value_if_error is “Description missing”. To apply the formula, we need to follow these steps: Select cell F3 and click on it Insert the formula: =IFERROR(INDEX($H$3:$I$9, MATCH(C3, $H$3:$H$9, 0), 2), "Description missing") Press enter Drag the formula down to the other cells in the column by clicking and dragging the little “+” icon at the bottom-right of the cell.2.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: Had to reinstall Realtek HD audio driver every time I open the lid.

Automatically number rows Excel for Microsoft 365 Excel 2019 Excel 2016 Excel 2013 Excel 2010 Excel 2007 Unlike other Microsoft Office programs, Excel does not provide a button to number data automatically. But, you can easily add sequential numbers to rows of data by dragging the fill handle to fill a column with a series of numbers or by using the ROW function. Tip: If you are looking for a more advanced auto-numbering system for your data, and Access is installed on your computer, you can import the Excel data to an Access database. In an Access database, you can create a field that automatically generates a unique number when you enter a new record in a table. What do you want to do? Fill a column with a series of numbers Use the ROW function to number rows Display or hide the fill handle Fill a column with a series of numbers Select the first cell in the range that you want to fill. Type the starting value for the series. Type a value in the next cell to establish a pattern. Tip: For example, if you want the series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5..., type 1 and 2 in the first two cells. If you want the series 2, 4, 6, 8..., type 2 and 4. Select the cells that contain the starting values. Note: In Excel 2013 and later, the Quick Analysis button is displayed by default when you select more than one cell containing data. You can ignore the button to complete this procedure. Drag the fill handle Fill handle across the range that you want to fill. Note: As you drag the fill handle across each cell, Excel displays a preview of the value. If you want a different pattern, drag the fill handle by holding down the right-click button, and then choose a pattern. To fill in increasing order, drag down or to the right. This cmdlet retrieves diagnostic information for all or specified search components in the active topology of a Search Service Application. If you don't specify any of the optional parameters, the cmdlet will retrieve the health status of all the search components within the Search Service Application. Each search component will have one of the following states: Active: The search component is running OK Degraded: The search component is in a status where it cannot perform all operations correctly. The reason for the degraded status is typically a transient situation related to a restart or network issues. Failed: The search component is not running. This status indicated that the component cannot perform operations correctly. Unknown: The component can't be reached. The reason for the unknown status is typically hardware or communication issues. If you have defined more than one Index component for a partition in your search topology, this cmdlet will indicate which index component that has the Primary role for this partition. The "modern" experiences in SharePoint Online are: Modern team sites Modern list and library experiences Modern site pages "Modern" experiences are being gradually released in SharePoint Online, and you can control how they are applied at the tenant or site level. If you have existing customizations, you can defer using the new experiences until the required customization options are available. If you have existing customizations that are business critical for your deployment, we recommend using the following process for adopting the "modern" experiences: Readiness: Understand the "modern" experiences, know what features they offer, but equally important, understand which features are not (yet) available. Assess: Assess to what extent your current customizations can work within the "modern" experience. Also assess which of your sites have customizations or features that will not work within the "modern" experiences. These sites and their customizations should be updated or need to stay in "classic". However, other sites should work just fine using the "modern" experiences. The best way to assess your compatibility with the "modern" experiences is by using the SharePoint Modernization scanner. Solution planning: Plan the work required for both custom solutions and sites to prepare them to be used with the "modern" experiences. Develop and test: Apply the needed changes to your customizations and test them. Deploy: Roll out the updated changes to your SharePoint Online environment.805Views0likes0CommentsRe: Excessive lookup queries from DNS
The primary cause of too many DNS requests is TTLs that are too low. Yours are low but not insanely low. (I've seen 60 and 1 as TTLs in production systems.) digitaldawn.net. 1800 IN A 109.73.163.166 http://www.digitaldawn.net. 3600 IN A 208.94.146.71 http://www.digitaldawn.net. 3600 IN A 208.94.146.70 http://www.digitaldawn.net. 3600 IN A 208.94.146.80 http://www.digitaldawn.net. 3600 IN A 208.94.146.81 cdn.digitaldawn.net. 1800 IN CNAME wpc.7b5c.edgecastcdn.net. wpc.7b5c.edgecastcdn.net. 3600 IN CNAME gs1.wpc.edgecastcdn.net. gs1.wpc.edgecastcdn.net. 14400 IN A 93.184.221.133 Unless you are changing the IP address that these domains point to more often than once per day, you will be better off changing the TTL to something like 86400 (24 hours). You can go higher if you can be confident of having at least the time period in the TTL of advance waning that you might need to change the IP address. For the cdn.digitladawn.net subdomain, even if you set that TTL to 86400, only that line in the above output will be cached for 24 hours. If the wpc.7b5c.edgecastcdn.net response changes, all clients should have picked up the new value after a maximum of one hour (ignoring for now those DNS servers that ignore your TTLs.) The other two causes of too many DNS requests that I have seen are too many clients (say, thousands of edge CDN servers that are all hitting your authoritative name servers) or a single misbehaving client (possibly a script on your own server) that is doing lookups dozens of times per second. An example of this could be a reverse proxy that uses backend.digitaldawn.net as its upstream server and makes a DNS request for that domain for every HTTP request it has to proxy. Adding DNS caching to that server or running your own authoritative name server inside your production environment can solve this problem. If you can get hold of better statistics for your name servers (such as the IP addresses of all the clients that did lookups) then you might be able to diagnose this sort of problem.23KViews0likes0Comments
