The "first set" of Working Offline capabilities for the New Outlook for Windows will be available to all users.
This feature will allow you to access your mail, calendar events, and contacts even when you're not connected to the internet since they will be stored on your device. You can also still perform important actions on your mail, such as flagging, moving, deleting, and composing new messages, to ensure your productivity remains uninterrupted even when you're offline while at the airport or home office.

Teresa_Cyrus The real issue with this whole fiasco is that they prematurely ripped off the beta label. 'Offline Support' isn't some arbitrary feature either. Basic prerequisite functionality of a local email client is the ability to store the emails locally.
- CorwenBrass ContributorThis is like building a house from the roof down.
- masafronovCopper Contributor...and without doors.
- nosbusCopper ContributorI simply dont understand why this “new outlook”, is being mass tested across paying customers. The product is alpha code at best, and still does not even have a clear timetable for feature parity and they are offering to migrate users to it.

Did it not happen in January? I still don't have offline support of any kind

Hi Teresa_Cyrus,
I am frequent traveller and would need to get access to my emails offline. When will this be available?
thank you
I checked again this morning, and it is not available for new Outlook or web yet.
Stay tuned.

Teresa_Cyrus Here we are, more than half way through April and still nothing. I wonder what's going on at Microsoft...

Teresa_CyrusMicrosoft should cancel this project as it is a fiasco in every way. It is an obvious way to cut development costs at the expense of software quality and end users.
- KristofferJohanssonCopper ContributorAugust 7 now and I "have" this "feature", or core functionality as we called it for decades...
By "have" I mean, that it is enabled, I can adjust days, I can go offline and have access, BUT, I can't open new Outlook when offline. Read that again please: Outlook can't be opened offline, but throws an error that server is unavailable.
Great work Microsoft!! Great work.- andy2475Copper Contributor
As per almost every comment above, this really is astonishingly poor. What is the point of an application if it does nothing more than a web interface? What is the point of being able to locally store data if you are not able to access it? This really is functionality 101 and it is mind bending that users have been complaining about this for a year and it is not fixed.

andy2475 It is hard to know what to say. We are years into the development of a critical application, and you can't repoen it if it closes (or Windows crashes) when you are offline! Incredible.
You only have to look at the comments on the Windows store to see how well New Oulook is going down.
With my New Outlook user hat on , several questions came to mind about working offline.
Gio, There is one reference that I need clarification on. What does "first set of capabilities" mean?
I am aware users will have the flexibility to choose the number of days to download messages to mobile devices is coming soon.
- My concern is storage space for these files on both mobile and PC.
- The syncing process will surely be done when online. However, will that then take the data offline to strictly online or share properties for both offline and online?
- What's in the pipeline for future releases that you can share?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

I had no idea that the new Outlook would not work in offline mode. Had I known, I would have stayed on the old version. The update says February/March but it's now April.
Microsoft, the silence is deafening!!!!

You need a marketing specialist to name something that has always worked as a "feature" and sell it as "we love you, we want you to work well, we are here for you."
