Meetings on Outlook calendar disapearing

Copper Contributor

We have a few users who are delegates for their VP that have meetings they have organized that are disappearing off their calendars. They can see the meeting on other people's calendars just not theirs. We are using Office 365 E3 and E5 subscriptions. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Nate_Rohe,

Please run this PowerShell CMD and verify the size of the RecoverableItems

Get-MailboxFolderStatistics <email address> -FolderScope RecoverableItems | FL Name,FolderAndSubfolderSize,ItemsInFolderAndSubfolders

If the RecoverableItems is already bigger than 100GB this will cause the issue. There is a workaround to fix this.

Thanks for your reply, I just checked and hers is at 281.9 MB.
Is your environment hybrid or direct O365 tenant?
It is Hybrid but all mail is on O365.
And how long do they take to disappear?
Had a little longer discussion with her yesterday and this appears to happen with recurring meetings that have multiple occurrences changing over the course of months. For example several years ago she sent out a meeting invite to all staff for our monthly recurring Staff Meetings. Over the course of the year one month may need to change to a different day of the week so she goes into the invite, edits just that occurrence and sends out the update. A couple weeks ago when she did this she received a Conflict Message, she doesn't think she chose any of the options but just to X out of the window. After doing that the invite disappeared from her calendar but stayed on everyone else's. Ironically, we could see the invite in her deleted items but it would not allow us to move it back to her calendar.
You might need to check the users who are experiencing this issue by checking Smartphone Sync Settings and AutoArchive in Outlook.

If the "AutoArchive Every" check box is enabled, consult the "Days" field to see how frequently it is set to archive your data.

If you've synced your smartphone with Outlook and the latter is removing entries automatically after seven days, chances are it's doing this because of settings on your smartphone. Check your smartphone's synchronization settings before proceeding with other possible solutions to this problem
Thanks, I will look at those settings.
