Hi All,
How do I stop MS Teams availability icon changing automatically on my profile photo?
I work on two separate computers next to each other. Both are used for two separate companies. They both use MS Teams as their communication app. When I work on one computer for more then 10 minutes the other computer shows that I am away (not available) from MS Teams. I need to be available to ask any question on both computers.
I have looked in the MS Teams settings and there is no way to adjust this or change the timeout from a few minutes to a few hours like you can do in Skype for Business.
Thanks

I have a similar issue that just started happening. When I'm in a GoToMeeting, Teams automatically sets my status from Available to In a Meeting. I don't want this because the green circle turns red on the Teams Icon in my Sys Tray. I rely on that to tell me when a chat message comes through. I can't allow pop ups because I'm doing GoToMeeting presentations all day.

Same issue as you. We need to be able to disable auto-presence updates....

This must have just started happening because I never noticed it before, but my status in Teams appears to be changing based on my Outlook calendar. For example, right now on my calendar I have an appointment for lunch. Teams currently shows a status of "Out of Office", which I am not. Not only does it automatically set this, but I can't manually override it either. My attempts at changing the current status to "Available" are ineffective, it's stuck on "Out of Office".
Interesting integration feature, I suppose, but 9 times out of 10 it's going to be an inconvenience., especially if I can't override it (whose bright idea was that?).

You're right, it did just start happening!

This is insane, and needs to be corrected. I can't even set a reminder on my office calendar without it changing my Teams status to "Busy." Why is this not at least an option you have some control over?

Agreed. Status needs to be controlled by the end user always.

I have the same issue.
The interesting point I picked up, is based on the fact that I have a single login for 5 different organisations.
My primary account shows I am Busy.
On my other organisations where I am a Guest using the same account it shows I am Available
Confused, I know I am!
So this issue just seems to occur when you are a subscribed user to an organisation.
It does not happen when we are a guest.

Has anyone reported this or even heard back from Microsoft that they're working on this?

Is there a public link to the ticket or do you have an update on this yet? Thank you! :)

Add me to the list of users who would like to be able to disable this feature manually. Some of our users use their calendars as a defacto Task list, but do not like being shown as Busy or In a Meeting all day.
Thanks

When will Microsoft fix this issue where the availability icon can be disabled from syncing with outlook calendar?

Is there a place we go to vote on this issue? Was a ticket ever raised?
Thanks.
