Can't Log Into Teams

I started a new job with a company that uses Teams. When I try to log in, it says I don't have access to that company. I found a work around where if I select "Can't Access Account", then cancel out of it, then try to log in again and it works. 

 

But, today that isn't even working. What am I doing wrong? Logging in shouldn't be this difficult.

Thanks for raising this. I guess the first place to start is as follows: can you confirm you have a licence to use Microsoft Teams (I.e. Office 365 licence) and can you login to the Teams web app https://teams.microsoft.com/ without issue?

If you can, can you login to the mobile app on IPhone/Android without issue? You may need to download this onto your device.

If you can, can you login without issue in Incognito mode in the browser? Would be good to understand the browser you are in.

Once we understand this can build up a picture of what might be going wrong.

My guess you have a modern authentication issue in the machine your using. When you click cancel then logged in that was using regular authentication.

What this means is your machine isn’t joined to the proper domain and or your office apps are logged into a different domain / personal account etc. go to outlook or word and check file > office account and make sure your new jobs domain / login is used here.

Agree its perhaps linked to account on the machine, but need a bit more information before offering answers.

 

Is it Windows 10?

Have you installed the Teams app or using the browser version?

Which browser?

Which version of Office?

 

Did this machined previously connect to different tenant?

If Windows 10 are old accounts cached under Email & Accounts?
