Microsoft Viva Sales is reimagining sales. By bringing customer relationship management (CRM) data and artificial intelligence (AI) seamlessly into every salesperson’s flow of work, Viva Sales helps sellers focus time on what matters most: making meaningful connections, building trust, and moving deals forward.


This month, we’re thrilled to share a suite of new features and improvements across Viva Sales that together empower sellers to work more effectively and efficiently than ever before. Today’s Viva Sales enhancements come as part of a broader set of AI updates to the Viva platform announced today, which you can read about here.


Simplify meeting preparation with opportunity summaries


Preparing for customer meetings is often a daunting task, requiring sellers to go to lengths to gather and synthesize information to become more informed about the customer and their needs. With the opportunity summary feature, Viva Sales now makes this process effortless by generating a concise customer summary, extracting important context from the relevant opportunity, recent notes and activities, and any highlighted issues or concerns. Available directly from the meetings in Outlook, this view allows sellers to quickly ramp up on the customer and ensure that they’re prepared for every meeting with zero distractions.

Save time & boost your CRM with generated email summaries


Sellers’ inboxes are often flooded with emails, many of which contain crucial context about the deals that they are working on. As a result, recalling specific customer details or sharing them with the rest of the team can be challenging, especially when it’s buried within an extensive email thread. Now, Viva Sales generates a summary of email interactions based on Microsoft 365 Graph and CRM data to provide a digestible brief on the customer, including insights on product, pricing, timelines, issues, and solutions. Additionally, sellers can quickly save this summary to the relevant opportunity in CRM as a note object, keeping the CRM current and fostering a shared understanding of the customer across the entire sales team.

Quickly identify the right CRM records with improved search


Every day, sellers worldwide use Viva Sales to create, manage, and collaborate on customer records without ever leaving their flow of work. Whether it’s to create contacts or associate emails to CRM records using Viva Sales in Outlook, or to share CRM records with colleagues using Viva Sales in Teams, sellers must often search for the right record. Previously, Viva Sales displayed only the record names in the search results, making it difficult to distinguish between multiple records in the search results if they all had the same name. Now, when sellers search for accounts, contacts, or opportunities in Viva Sales, they can view the key fields alongside the name, making it easy to identify the right records at a glance. Administrators can customize these key fields in the Viva Sales settings page.

AI-generated email content enhancements with Copilot


Last month, we announced the general availability of our first Copilot feature in Viva Sales, AI-generated email content, which allows sellers to improve the quality and timeliness of their communications with customers.


This month’s release brings some major changes to suggested email content in Viva Sales. Apart from numerous under-the-hood updates to improve the quality of generated emails, here are some of the new user-facing updates we’ve made:


Expanded compatibility with internal emails
We’re expanding suggested email content to support all types of emails, including threads with internal users. Now, when communicating internally, sellers can provide their own prompt to generate a draft, streamlining collaboration and saving time.

Precise opportunity embedding
While generating email content, Viva Sales intelligently embeds context from the relevant opportunity. We’ve now enhanced this capability to more accurately embed the right opportunity every time, using additional information from the email body and any connected opportunities. This ensures that sellers have optimal context when communicating so that they can move deals forward quickly and easily.

Spanish language support

Suggested email content will soon support Spanish, reinforcing our commitment to make every salesperson globally more successful. Spanish language support is scheduled to be available at the end of this month. To stay informed, check back on this blog soon. Suggested email content is now default on in North America, making it easier than ever before to jump right in and get the most out of Viva Sales. Admins may choose to turn this feature off anytime for their organization.

This month’s release brings significant improvements to meeting summaries in Viva Sales. Besides numerous under-the-hood updates to improve the performance and reliability, we’ve improved meeting summaries to help sellers reclaim even more of their time and serve their customers even better:


Stay on top of customer commitments with AI-powered action item suggestions
After the meeting, sellers can now easily act on follow-ups by swiftly converting them into tasks tracked in the CRM. This feature ensures that sellers can stay organized and keep deals moving forward with minimal effort.
